IMPORTANT: You must first download the wing skin fix for the Typhoon which is found here: viewtopic.php?t=20790

If you do not do this, there will be no wing roundels, stripes, or tail flash on the airplane.

Unfortunately the typhoon uses 2 skins to make it up: the one from the paintschemes folder, the other from the plane's 'summer' folder. After you download the wing skin fix, take the 2 .tga files found in the Typhoon-skinMod\3do\plane\TyphoonMkIB(GB)\-alt0_default folder, and copy them to your \MODS\Typhoon_Ib\3do\plane\TyphoonMkIB(GB)\summer folder. What this does is replace the DEFAULT skin for the typhoon so that the wings will be shown with roundels and the underside stripes. The documentation for the wing skin fix will explain this better if you are confused. Just be sure to use the .tga's from the -alt0_default folder, as they are the ones with the correct underside stripes from 1943.

After that, installation is just like any other skin. Take typhoon197sq-OVE.bmp and place it in the PaintSchemes\Skins\TyphoonMkIB skin folder. Be sure to select "RAF" under your country list when selecting your loadout so the wings will show the roundels and stripes.

Apparently, the Typhoon can not be flown in the FMB, as it will crash the game. :???: Also, if you are using HSFX or UP1.8, you will have to reinstall the Typhoon into the MODS folder on its own before doing any of this.

PHEW! Lots of BS to get this going right? :lol:

If you don't want to go through it all, hopefully someday someone will rework the Typhoon so it only uses one skin file like everything else.

One last thing: DO NOT use this skin for a TEMPEST!! It will look funny! hock:
