Not one to make new aircraft reqs, but B-32 Dominator?
#1

Was kind of a gigantic B-24 made to be the fallback if the B-29 failed. Actually saw combat against Japan, which is the ONLY reason I'm even considering to request this aircraft. Also, the bomber would've stayed in production if the war didn't end (1500 orders canceled after VJ-day). Perfect 'realistic' candidate for 1946 scenarios. Anyways, I know how it works around here, but I at least thought it'd be interesting reading for some people. I never knew this thing existed, let alone actually saw combat.

Yes, its a strange and rare aircraft. It was also the last allied airplane shot at by the Japanese fighter-airplanes.
They attacked a few flying bombers over Japan. Japan had already surrendered a few days earlier, but a few , determined, pilots of the Japanese Imperial AF, decided to do one last attack on American Bombers. Confusedhock:

I would like to see the B-32 be added to the sim.

Some additional information on the B-32.

First, only 118 were produced and only six were operational during the last two months of the war. Actually it would have been seven, except one crashed on takeoff on its first sortie.

This aircraft shot down three (confirmed) and probably got four more without losing any to enemy action

I think Saburo Sakai was the pilot who shot it down in cooperation with another one. This would be a nice addition, it is really rare aircraft and it would bee good for the what-if scenarios.

On the what-if side... For the planned Invasion of Japan, bomber crews using the B-24-CO in Europe would have been converted to the B-32-CO before the actual Invasion with B-17-BO crews being converted to the B-29-BO.
