I was playing around last night and made a little WW111 mission of a U.S attack on a Soviet refinery, i hid a mistel beneath an oil tank in the centre of the refinery, then hit it with a couple of well placed 1000 pounders from a U.S navy sabre

Soviet refinery before the attack

A U.S navy sabre sneaks through the mountains

And BOOM the refinery goes up in a huge explosion

How could you blow up such a beautiful refinery. I would put 50 AAA all around it to stop anyone getting near.

It was only possible to create such a refinery thanks to your fantastic objects from your channel map, ok i know they're gas tanks but they make good oil tanks as well, now i,m looking for post war soviet concrete infrastructure of all kinds to finish this map with, don't suppose you have anything like that up your sleave that you might like o share........ its a long shot but i thought i would ask anyway?[/quote]

You must have me mixed up with someone else, I didn't make any objects for the Channel map ( unless they used my road plates ). The only objects I have made are for Thrud & his New Guinea New Britain map. You will have to wait for that to come out to see if there's anything you can use.

Thanks took quite a few hours but it also stretches around the coast to include port facilities, dry docks, submarine base and a central island with a seaplane base, in fact its really a soviet pearl harbour and is part of a new map set in the arctic and used for ww111 scenarios. I used hsfx with no additional mods except my own textures on the map but its the effects of the big explosion i like, i never knew that mistels could be placed in the target zone and detonated by bombs i'm sure its been done a million times before but theres nothing like the thrill you get when trying something for the first time as an experiment and it all comes together perfectly. I watched the bombs drop right on target, then they exploded, i thought it hadn't worked at first and then a split second later the mistel detonated......eurika!!! total destruction!

Can you post the mission file?

Surely the mission file is useless without the map......isn't it?

Yes, it is. Just thought when you said you only used your own textures.
