PZL P.24
#1

I remember seeing this aircraft before available for IL2, but now it seems nowhere to be found.

I remember seeing it here (it may have been back when it was still AAA) and saw a compilation someone did listing two versions, but the download link was removed.

I did use ye olde search function, but it doesn't return any results (perhaps because of the length of what was entered?)

Can anyone tell me more? Was it removed for some reason or is one available anywhere?

that's what i thought, but he said there were links for the plane he was looking for but they were removed, so i guess he really is searching for one of these, but they're almost the same things

I have this mod installed by transfer from game version to game version.
I will also look in my archives for the original file and post it for you.
Many different models. Each diff.skin is accessed through arbitrary Country/ or season select. Weird, but very well done.

Was hard to find, because it was not a regular mod; more like an add-on to an early UNI-pack. As such it may have been included in a later pack.

Also the file contains buttons for this kind of install. I will remove these
since it seems to work fine with my UP2 and the latest SAS buttons I have.

If anyone wants them ( old buttons/osolete ); ask and will put them back.

Working on it now. Smile

Some members, not all, but myself included, have a small problem with this aircraft. While it flies quite well and works, when the objects pull down menu is accessed and you go to the individual aircraft options (such as clicking for 'player' choosing a skin etc) the game can freeze up. Not everyone had this problem, but a substantial number of members did.

To get around this, should you wish to pilot the plane, you should choose another aircraft first, place the waypoints and further info, then click player for the other aircraft. Then when all this is done, choose one of the PZL 24 variants and you will be pilot. I haven't found a way of choosing individual skins though.

So be forewarned about this potential bug in the this aircraft.

It still works very well with the latest version of SAS buttons.

Mainly it useful as an opponent plane or an ai controlled plane.

Default-skins used. See intructions. Normal skins (?): files ID provided.

From what I understand about it is that it was never quite 'finished'. There were a few problems with it, including the DM, IIRC. It would be great if someone could sort it out and give it its own slot.

YEP. Samo. Bug. Works fine in QMB, but in FMB I replaced on an existing plane in an existing mission: all is well untill you click "Plane1", then total freeze as the new window tries to open.
The game wont even stop after pulldown to taskbar. Had to Logoff . Sad
