If its very good I don't think I will play IL2 near as much again. I'll keep an ultra pack copy just in case though

Quote:My IL-2 runs about 75 fps to 130 fps. NEVER 30

Yeah but what are your system specs. on a medium grade gaming pc low settings will only get you around 30fps at the best of times

oh, i ve just finished having a tweak with the graphic options. i set all my grphics to high and i get more fps than i do at low. WTF!!!!!!!!!!
this games is really starting to annoy me, i think i ll just have to go back to playing il-2 1946 UP 2.01 the engine in it is soooo much better and graphics ccan be made relitively the same but i can play at 200 fps

RadPig94 Wrote:you people complain too much... IL-2 1946 only runs on a 30 fps average on low settings... and i'm happy with it

It's not a matter of complaining. It just surprises me how shortsighted people can be, only when a game is newer and graphics are somewhat improved. Other things don't count anymore. Quality, trust?

If they mod COD to reasonable standards (or release a decent version) than we'll talk further...

I'm very happy with my UP install, just like you! For many years to come.

attention, the game is not finished, if I had known, I will not get it bought. it's a shame. WW2 Fighters of the 90s was better! it is a scandal.

I'd be happy with paying for the beta and everything as long as it gets patched up eventually (Hearts of Iron 3... was a mess until Semper Fi) or gets the modding community involved.

Blame UBI! It´s the only culprit!

Let Oleg and his team another year and we´ll get a nice Il-2 replace.

HI!

I have bought my first game over Steam today (the game is of course COD)

The current version is 1.00.13820
The settings are at medium and it runs pretty good.
Well it's not running smooth 100 % but it's a start.
Not sure but i think UBI is to blame.
A few years ago when Oleg and Co made one of the games in the il-2 series, the publisher published the wrong version of the game...

So GO OLEG and CO

... you should not rely too much on Oleg to do anything about the bugs that plague the game, because he left the building way back in december ....

Dear Gents,

I received my COD today, I bought Collector edition.

First I had to say I was very surprised by the box, which is very big : it is like a collector DVD. Manual is nice, Spitfire Pilot's book well reproduced (I have another one, so I can compare;o) and the map ot bad.

After a short installation, a long time to download it on Steam, I enjoy to be into the menu. I read it was pretty dark, but that didn't chock me. The Music is very nice, it is important for immersion, but on my computer, music stoped when I was choosing a new menu... Sometimes it is playing, and sometime not...

I really enjoy to personnalize my pilot, choosing the pant, the jacket, the vest, glasses or not... Like in Te Godfather's game. According to me this is very nice, I appreciate it !

So let's go first fly... Here we go guys !!! After a long time to load it, the game crashed... I'm playing with an old laptop, COMPAQ 8510P, INTEL CORE 2 DUO, Win XP SP3, DX9.0c, ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 2600. I have to say here, I was not sure COD could ran on it... and I forget to choose the good video options ;o)

So first fly, first pic, was all option LOW and VERY LOW, we get this :

With FPS Problems (I don't know if it was Low or High), but the game was not fluid. Return into the past when I first flown SECRET WEAPONS OF THE LUFTWAFFE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eosVhMLr1A

(If Oleg read this line, I really enjoyed SWOTL music, I never forget... Good rythm...so if Moders would like to add it... ;o)

Second flight, I saw my pilot into the pit, nice...

(You can see I am chating with my dear friend Planemad, who everybody knows here ;o)

but still FPS due to my config...

So to conclude, I think the most waiting simulation game ever made is for SUPERCOMPUTERS ONLY, if you don't have it, I will not recommend to buy. I bought it to encourage developpers to keep it up, and because Simulators are today my only way to flight a Sptifire... I am a big fan, we are on a special market (Marché Niche in french) only for fans...

But I am optimist and I remember IL2 STURMOVIK 10 years ago, no one could play, very long time to load, FPS problems... We are still flying with it today... So be patient as a great philosoph said ;o)

I have to wait to have a new computer to really enjoy this game, but I am not disappointed. If Oleg wants to offer me a supercomputer, I would never say 'No', and I will enjoy to help him developping COD.

ANOTHER TIME customers have to be patient, no doubt in a few months or years it will be the best sim ever. This is easy to criticize it today, I will really enjoy to speak about it in a few months or years. A lot of improve had been made for realism !

So I think I said all... I probably will edit my post in some days, after having past more time on this. I really enjoyed to buy it, and enjoy to have it now even if know I will play in a few months. IL2 1946 with mods (especially HISTOMOD 4.5 is very veyr nice, so I can continue to play it ;o)

I hope it will help you guys to have an opinion !!

Cheers,

Ted

PS : I am playing ROF, Low graphism (25 %) without any problems, and I did some good screens, I hope it will be the same thing with COD in a next future ;o)

A nice review Ted Big Grin

Its a pity you can't play it like so many other, everyone has the low FPS problem, hopefully in the next patch it'll be fixed

Well like I keep say - Remember Empire Total War - that was unplayable but look at it now, so heads up everyone one day it'll be good,

Cheers
