the void picture is rotated in the wrong direction, rotate it 90 degrees each time and check again 'till it's correct, look when in the loadout menu not while flying, and switch to another plane and then back to it to update the skin list.
as for buttons:

OK, in the IL-2 main directory just make a new folder and name it "MODS" all caps. and for installing the buttons, just paste or unzip them into the directory as shown:

YourPC\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\#SAS\STD\gui\game\Buttons

A6M-N is the seaplane, and yeah, ran into that problem every time I've made a skin and forgot to rotate it back before saving, it's not a big problem, just annoying

Ok well i downloaded the Ar-234c and it came in a folder called MODS so i thought i can just drag the contents of the MODS folder in the zip to the MODS folder on my hard drive, i added the aircraft to air.ini and it crashed at 65, any suggestions?
this this the code
Code:
Ar-234C-2        air.AR_234C2 2                                g01   SUMMER

but for the Ar 234B its slightly different
Code:
Ar-234B-2         air.AR_234B2 2                                g01   SUMMER
in the 234 b theres an extra tab key, but i have no idea if it even works!
no it always crashes at 65

STOP!!!

The issues you're having aren't anything that you think.
The reason you're seeing the skins like this is because a lot of the 3-D models were fixed by the HSFX team. Skins that you had for the old 3D models will no longer fit properly.
You have to find or make new skins for your planes.

So far the planes I've seen affected by this are as follows:

A6M
Spitfire
FW-190
BF-109
C-47

Hope this helps you out so you don't keep banging your head against the wall.

the tab key just moves a line a bit, like hitting the space bar a few times, but it doesn't show up in the forum for some reason, it doesen't line up with any of the other lines in Air.ini

tab key?
You copy and paste, you use Notepad.
You have a guide on how to install a new aircraft here:
