Yes , very nice and I'm glad to hear from you Istvan, ,,,,,and I instantly come with an idea !! ...maby good to make a special VP_Media pack with all youre US/Japanese skins concerning this map for campaign building...btw Istvan did you see the screenshots of the Hurricane/Malaya campaign ? The Hurricane skins you gave me are more then beautifull to watch and again I thk you for that. click on (The link is inoperative)

first I wasnt really sure wheter I should involve or not but then I figured that I should not keep any information for myself only plus I somehow got trust in the il2 community - some great brains around Smile

about the skins: I already compiled a pack in a week, which includes replacement skins (3 tga,1 tgb) for most planes (aprox 60% done but needs a lot of minor corrections, another weeks work) using the best community skins - for example I did Ki-61 but Greg Boyingtons (french skinner, weathering expert) skins are much better so I used those, the list is long....the results are stunning imho, whole airfields populated with propherly camouflaged planes adds so much to the immersion and the best is that this is only the start of things

the problem is that the skinpacks size is 2Gb+ and I doubt that this site has so much storage so I'll have to find another way which is not impossible since I'm working in the it sector

currently I'm swimming in work but in a few week I will be able to concentrate my efforts on finishing this pack

Hi every body.
Sorry for my english, I am french !

I am very interresting about modify texture's map.

I am trying to render CRIMEA more realistic. I use the Kuban file given by lowfighter to assign new textures on Crimea. But i am very limited in my work because I don't know the exactly name of the texture. For example, I need Italy map's textures but without the name, it's impossible.

Is someone know the name of texture (water, land, moutain) for Italy and other maps ?
Can you help me ? It could be interresting to create a IL2's texture catalog. It would be easy to transform each map.

Hi,

very impressive work you've done .

Now ... you need sfs.extractor for extracting all sfs files in one folder . After its done you'll find _Tex folder with all available textures. ( later added maps such is Italy are encrypted so they can't be reached) Path for _Tex:

\3do_sfs_files\maps\_Tex

well if i want to change land into water map_T.tga and the rest would be nice.

If we can put water into mainland ( as Niel did) can we also put land into water with this .... that will be historical breakthrough .

How did you manage to get load.ini for italy?

We should create a .doc file with all names of texture for all the map like (Mourmansk, curland, normay ....). It will be very useful !!!
If someone know another texture names (Mourmansk, curland, norway ...), he could send me via MP or in this discussion !!!

I'm blind!!! Haven't seen the H2O, thought it was the land textures different. Beautiful, beautiful.

The Italy stuff, look into those A6MNUF8BLBBLBA files coming with the last map archive, open the small ones with wordpad, bigger ones are mostly .tgas for the last maps. Wanted to post that but there are too many things going on so my head is dizzy all the time.
