I read somewhere that the Typhoon and Tempest could carry up to 16 rockets... I don't know why such a loadout wasn't given in this sim?

Source? I highly doubt that a double-tiered rocket loadout would have been fitted to a Typhoon. I do know this was a standard armament option for the Sea Fury:

Sea-fury looks soo much like the MK.II

Btw Ranwers, could you make a Mk.II next please? if thats what some people would like

Also it could account for a Sea-fury

Actually we should ask that the rockets from the Tempest be removed:

Oleg said the rockets were included as a sop to those who wanted to fly Typhoon-type missions. But the point is valid - where does the quest for realism end? I can't see people voluntarily removing particular loadouts no matter how unrealistic.

The twin MK 108 gondolas on certain late war 109s are historically incorrect.
Butch2K (Oleg's main Luftwaffe advisor) confirmed on the Ubi board that they were included as a 109 loadout by mistake - they were never used operationally due to vibration problems. He told Oleg this on several occasions, but was apparently ignored!

I also heard that the IL2's phosphorous bomb VAP 250s and mustard-gas AJ2 cassette were very rarely used and are historically irrelevant, but they do add to the gaiety of life (or death, rather).

I would... ...the quest ends when it's real Idea Arrow

btw, the Tempest in IL2 dose not use zero length rails

I just tried this for the first time and I think it's pretty good! Well done Ranwers!

In cockpit view it's totally convincing, in external, maybe 85% convincing. It certainly passes the 'suspension of disbelief' test from most angles.

One bug report: The landing gear legs are not mounted in identical positions. I'd favour the starboard one being moved further out to maintain the wide-track look of the Typhoon.

A suggestion for Ranwers - could you extend the Hurricane fin to include a little of the Hurricane spine? That might fill the small gap in front of the fin.

I'm surprised the wing and fin/rudder look the right size - I expected them to look too small. Did you re-scale the meshes?

Anyway, with a nice skin it'll be even more convincing. Good luck sorting this out Ranwers!
