adding new planes to DCG
#31

I was wondering if anyone has addeded the Fw 190A-5U14 yet? I have it working OK but there are 2 loadouts I can't get to show up in game - "Torp " and "PTB ". Thanks

Also anyone made a DCG campaign using CannonUK's map yet?

I have managed to get the FW190A3 to be recognised by DCG, however I am having major issues with the FW190D11/13 & getting constant errors, has anybody managed to get these operational in DCG yet?

FLy_ZO awesome thread thanks, Question how can i add the F4 trop versions to my flyable aircraft. I downloaded your files and installed into data folder works like a charm have you thought of adding all the new flyables with the 1.1 in a single package. Hopefully one of you smart guys will figure out how to add the new maps then the rest of us will be elated. Again thanks awesome stuff!!

I followed the instructions for adding the 410 and it shows up in DCG. My problem is when i go to start the mission, everything is loading then I get this error.

Mission loading failed. Weapon set " not registered in air.Me_410A

What is this and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

I am also having trouble with the 190D-11 and D13, copied and pasted in to the right place, nothing rewrote the lines nothing added the class to maps, nothing. The planes show up in class but not in squadron editor??
Can anyone help with this problem or show me where to look. Is it a DCG3.41 problem?
Please, any help would be welcome, even if you say you have the same problem...

Please help me
Thanks

Have sorted the problem with D11 and D13, still no luck with F4R1 though this I think is to do with skins folder.

Nope not skins, it's in the files for these planes, they need a rework to include in DCG I think

For the F-86 try this in the Class.dcg file:

Code:
XP_86                    SABRE                 us 1 1 1 194001 194612 none                     SABRE               none                     5000 Meters 620.00 kph  Default     620.00 kph

Here's the Panther if anyone wants it, (I haven't added the payloads, but this will at least get it into the game, where you can arm your flight yourself):

Code:
F9F2                     F9F2_Panther          us 1 1 1 194001 194612 none                     F9F2_Panther        F4U1D                    5000 Meters 620.00 kph  Default     620.00 kph

Again these go in the "class.dcg" file. hope this helps!

/second edit/

Got it ... at least as far as adding the later mark spits in to be available.

class.dcg :
Code:
SPITFIRE12               Spitfire Mk.XII       gb 1 1 1 194403 194612 SPITFIRE14C              SpitfireMkXII       SPITFIRE9ECLP            5000 Meters 480.00 kph  Default     480.00 kph
SPITFIRE14C              Spitfire Mk.XIVC      gb 1 1 1 194406 194612 none                     SpitfireMkXIVC      SPITFIRE12               5000 Meters 480.00 kph  Default     480.00 kph
SPITFIRELF14E            Spitfire Mk.XIVE LF   gb 1 1 1 194406 194612 none                     SpitfireMkLFXIVE    SPITFIRE12               5000 Meters 480.00 kph  Default     480.00 kph

UPDATE EDIT : In 'allpayloads.dcg' add the following:

Code:
SPITFIRE12                   D 30gal
SPITFIRE12                   D 45gal
SPITFIRE12                   D 90gal
SPITFIRE12                   B 250lb
SPITFIRE12                   B 500lb
SPITFIRE14C                  D 45gal
SPITFIRE14C                  D 30gal
SPITFIRE14C                  D 90gal
SPITFIRE14C                  B 250lb
SPITFIRE14C                  B 500lb
SPITFIRELF14E                D 45gal
SPITFIRELF14E                D 30gal
SPITFIRELF14E                D 90gal
SPITFIRELF14E                B 250lb
SPITFIRELF14E                B 500lb

Use the following edit if the payload settings still don't work: default ordnance loadouts for these Spits can be set by editing 'payloads.dcg' with the following information :

Code:
SPITFIRE12                   500lb               default             500lb               45gal               500lb               default
SPITFIRE14C                  500lb               default             500lb               45gal               500lb               default
SPITFIRELF14E                500lb               default             500lb               45gal               500lb               default

That at least gives the late mark Spits something to use in case a generated mission has them doing some ground pounding (or ship attack).

One more necessary step was to open 'Squadrons.dcg' in the campaign folder you want these Spits active in. I am using a clean install of DCG 3.41, with a brand new "Normandy44_GB" campaign started. Scroll through until you find a suitable squadron (something with a Spit IX perhaps?). My crash-test-dummies squadron looked like this originally:

Code:
[RAF_No033SQN0]
  Planes 5/12-0+4
  Skill 1
  Class air.SPITFIRE9E
  Active True  AI False
  1default.bmp
  English_Airstrip
  Radio

Change the "Class air.SPITFIRE9E" line to read "Class air.SPITFIRE12" and voila ... That unit now flies Spit MK12's. Woot! Big Grin
