Very nice mod undeed!
What impressed me the most was the new animation on the cockpit when the Canopy Opens.
Could this be applayed to other Hurricanes?

I double checked my downloads and didn't see them. I made all edits in the ini and properties files. The planes show up in game with just a default and a void. Is that correct? I thought a template was a psd file for repainting.

What is meant is that, there is a default skin included, which is coded into the mod, like the default skins in original IL2 mods. You can see it when you select RAF as your country. So your install is normanl, thats how it is supposed to be.

I think I have a problem though. In the cockpit of both planes, there is no instrument panel. I mean, there are all the instruments, but behind them, there is no panel they are attached to. Is anyone else seeing this also?
