I hope somebody is able to make this... would be great!
Hey that looks cool. I never seen one of those before.
Great idea! 8)
First class idea. Would make for a great hack for other biplane floatplanes too.
An awesome idea! Especially if someone were able to create a functioning catapult for capital ships like CA's and BB's.
Oh yeah would love one of them please!
PORCOROSSO is back ?
@realdarko - nice, but the Fiat floatplane? The floats are too far back. You'll nose over landing that one on water because the drag is so much much worse than wheels.
Actually it wasn't you I was talking about. Someone has He111 and Po2 floaties in the works and hinted about more to come.
He-111 and U2 are Slow works.
Asheshouse do you want me to erase the pics of my seaplanes?
No. Leave them there now. I just didn't want this to drift off into a general floatplane thread.
The point of the Swordfish is that it is historically correct to go with Warspite and other ships at the start of WWII, and I am guessing that adding floats to the existing model would be a small project.
I have sent a PM to Maraz as well.
Asheshouse, I suggest PM'ing Fireball about the cat. He said that it is doable provided someone produced a carrier deck the size of the catapult rail.
Some challenges I foresee: dealing with the crosswind during the launch and making sure that the catapult throw is sufficient to get the Walrus up and away with a full combat load.
Fireball has set a ring of about 10 meters around the beginning of the cat within which you hit your chocks and you are snapped into place. That ring would need to be expanded for the cat on a CA or BB in order for the pilot to land and taxi up alongside to re-board and launch again.
