Il2 random crashes
#1

Hi there,

I have another problem: I use the HSFX 6 modded exe of the game and DCG 3.46, and also installed the modded files for use with HSFX. But I get random CTD's especially in DCG missions:

Code:
Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: il2fb.exe, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x44fe754b
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: Opengl32.dll, Version: 6.1.7600.16385, Zeitstempel: 0x4a5bdadb
Ausnahmecode: 0xc0000005
Fehleroffset: 0x0000416c
ID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0x500
Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01cdaae98f4062e0
Pfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: I:\IL-2\il2fb.exe
Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\Windows\system32\Opengl32.dll
Berichtskennung: 3fa1283f-16dd-11e2-b7ad-0050ba493fe4

I already searched a bit on the internet for info, most ppl say its a memory issue. I have Win7 64bit and 8 GB of RAM, which never gave me any trouble in the past. My overclock is tested and stable for about one year of gaming too.

Is there anything else I can do?

System

Phenom II x4 965 BE @ 4,0 Ghz
8 GB of RAM
GF 560 Ti 1GB
Win7 64bit

Hi,

Making sure that IL-2 is assigned to only one core might fix it. IL-2 was created as a Windows XP 32-bit program, so making sure that the .exe is running in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2 also might be a fix. Plutonium effects and HSFX you got there? You have great effects by default in HSFX, so try it without Plutonium and see what happens. I have doubts about your Plutonium compatibility with HSFX.

I'm not a user of HSFX at all, but as it goes for memory RAM issues here what I know:

The original .exe of an IL-2 game requested only 256mb of RAM to BE USED.

Now days I use a flexible .exe that I have set to my maximum of 1,252mb (1,252G) for my system with 4G of RAM. ( deep yellow zone ! )

The flexible .exe can go as high as 2G, but that doesn't work for me. ( Red zone ).

So you can raise your RAM to 16G, and it wont change anything; it's what the game ( .exe ) is limited to use that counts !

Dont know if it works/or exist for 4,11.1; I'm using 4,101 up3 dbw 1,171.
