thanks for your help but actually i managed to load this map thanks to the default all and static . ini files (
(The link is inoperative)).
however, like Messer, i can load it but cant save nor fly in it; ive installed all the xtra necessary files (bridge mod etc), and double checked everything was in place, but still no joy
i dont know, maybe it's because i dont have 4.09 yet, or im missing other mods, but for the time being, im giving up
so much for map mods...

My goodness, of course you won't be able to fly and save if you are still flying in 4.08 ... it's almost a given that new maps are made for 4.09 ...
If you still wish to use 4.08, you can install the UI 1.1 and it comes with version switchers so that prior to starting Il-2, you can choose which version you wish to have: 4.08 for instance for on-line servers, or 4.09 for off-line playing.
This map contains many different Slovakia Objects (churches, houses, industry, castles) and these are installed with 4.09. They are not included with version 4.08. So no wonder you can't fly with this map.

Lastly, "Yaz Iskar" should be either Yaz. Iskar ( from "yazovir", means "dam") or Iskam Dam, in English.
Once again, looks pretty good in FMB and I can't ait to fly over it. Thanks!

One note on historical accuracy - the Iskar Dam was bult some years after the war (during 1949-1954) so it should not be on the map
