Here is a small, but densely populated map of part of Bulgaria showing the area around Sofia.

A view of the FMB.

I realized that it may be necessary for some of you to install dlv Bridges as Objects mod. What this essentially does is create objects that look like the bridges that are created in Sturmovik. There is an issue in Il-2 whereby in-game bridges can only be created on water/river that is at sea-level. Anything higher inland and you can forget about the map-maker generating bridges.

Therefore these objects, bridge elements, were made by dlv to fill in a gap - namely placing bridges in a map that has river crossing above sea-level.

These were used in this map rather extensively since obviously, all rivers are way above sea-level.

So if you are having problems saving and flying a mission in the FMB, please check that you have this mod installed.

Hi!
nice map but i cannot see it in the full mission builder... :???:
I have both _Tex and ag_Bulgaria folders inside C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MapMods\maps
but i dont know exactly where to place the TreesTextures folder ?
Also, it is mentioned to place the line ag_Bulgaria ag_Bulgaria/load.ini in my all.ini file, but i got two of these files: one is located in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Training and the other one is in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Users
would love to see this map as i have been living in Sofia bulgaria for the past 2 years...
Cheers

Because there are often problems with the Forest/trees textures, in this map I've put all the necessary forest textures in the normal texture folder - ag/Bulgaria - so don't worry about those. I've also changed the load.ini file to reflect this as well. If you've put the texture folder in this location:

...MODS/mapmods/maps/_Tex/ag/Bulgaria/

then you should be all right on that count.

_____

The all.ini file that needs to be adjusted should normally be in this location:

...MODS/mapmods/maps/all.ini

In other words it is in the same subdirectory as the map ag_Bulgaria itself ... if you have all.ini files in other locations in your game, then I do not really know what to advise. The normal placement of the all.ini should be the above placement.

If you still have problems with this, then I'd suggest you ask on the forum, as I have no experience with this particular matter and I wouldn't want to give any bad advice.

+1
Those \Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Training Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Users folders are something that you have done by yourself, maybe for training purposes or what ever...
All the mods goes INSIDE the \Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS folder. Nowhere else
If they are not there IL" engine can't find the necessary files. All.ini txt file point the path to maps and all the importannt files like textures, actors.static and so on. If you follow the instructions how to install the map manually, you should be fine. But i suggest that you really read the agraciers read me file first and then just follow the instructions step by step and you should be fine

Seeing as the link to the bridges mod doesn't work anymore, I uploaded it here.

Hey, thanks for the map! Big Grin

I still can't get it to sav a mission in FMB, though - I've downloaded dlv Bridge mod, I have TreesTextures mod by fabianfred (that should go into - "Maps/_Tex/ag/Bulgaria/ -----", right?). Otherwise loads fine in FMB.

Just a few notes on the names -

Boyevgrad should be -> Botevgrad.
Silivnitsa -> Slivnitsa
Bozhuriste -> Bozhurishte

I'm not sure about Popov Del , it may be a small village I don't know, but it could be either modern Novi Han or Dolni Pasarel. I hope a fellow countrymen could help about this one.

Lastly, "Yaz Iskar" should be either Yaz. Iskar ( from "yazovir", means "dam") or Iskam Dam, in English.

Once again, looks pretty good in FMB and I can't ait to fly over it. Smile Thanks!

Thanks for the corrections. I'll incorporate them in an updated version.

If you're still having problems with flying and saving in FMB, why not try using this simple, but very handy tool. It checks the map you wish to use against your static.ini file and then reports which objects you are missing from your static.ini.

That way, you can look for the necessary objects that prevent the map from working in FMB.

viewtopic.php?t=20224&highlight=static+checker

It is not a difficult tool to use at all. Unzip, run and then navigate to the map you wish to check out. Afterwords, the program will generate a list of missing objects to a separate textfile. These will give a clue to which objects packs/mods you would need to install.

I dont know i must be the only one who cant install it?
The first time in downloaded the file, it was corrupted in fact ("Extracting MODS\MapMods\maps\_Tex\ag\Bulgaria\whc_dcountry_NG.tga is corrupted") so i downloaded the file again. (now the rar file is corrupted free....)

-My map folder is in: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MapMods
-My _Tex and ag_Bulgaria folders are in: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MapMods\maps
-My all.ini file containing the line ag_Bulgaria ag_Bulgaria/load.ini is in: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MapMods\maps
-My TreesTextures folder is in: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\MapMods\maps\_Tex\ag\Bulgaria

Now when i go in the FMB, i cannot open a single map! there's like a little square instead if the map list... :evil:

I can assure you before posting these, I read the readme file on and on...

I'd really like to help, but apart for suggesting that you remove all folders for this map and see if your maps reappear, I do not know what to suggest. Normally, when one map, however faulty or ineptly made, does not work, it should not affect the working of other maps.

There are perhaps other factors involved. But I could not tell you which.
