servers these days run either4.08 or 4.09, some are mod friendly some are not.

what version are you running and what servers are you trying to access.

Also what difficulty and style of flying are you loking for the online world of il2 can be quite diverse

i like limited ammo but no spins and stalls

rare to find a server with no spins and stall

Pretty much all of them, at least all the ones Ive flown on, are all full real physics including full engine management.

The main difficulty variations are in icon types, veiws, and planesets (i.e. some servers fly historical planesets-missions while others you can get in any plane you want and so can everyone else - all out dogfights quickly ensue)

What mods are you using? if any?

Have you been able to connect yet, have you disabled zutis moving dogfight mod? (very few servers run this and if you have it enabled it will not allow you to connect)
