Here's the latest FMB image I have ... it covers the same area as the older map if I'm not mistaken ...

I could however simply make a new basic map which would have the advantage of having rivers, shallow water and a bit more of a proper texture separation in map_t, as well including more area. But it shouldn't become too large though.

Objects or groupings already made could be copy/pasted into a new map as both would keep the same proportion: 1/1 or 1pixel=50m.

Or how about something along these lines?

I could if necessary crop some area off the bottom of the map shown here, but even if not, it would make little difference to any effort needed to finish the map, since those areas are sparsely populated in the real world anyway.

It might indeed be a good idea to have Pantelleria and a bit of Sicily on a map. I just did this quickly to show a possible area. I think this also include Kassereine somewhere to the south.

And once again, this map would be the same proportion as the older Tunisia map so any populating previously done would not be wasted. Groups of objects could be copy/pasted and then placed into correct locations.

I must say that the road network on th first one is totally off. As the text file. And the first one left out B

I can see that it would be interesting to get the Mareth Line on the map, way to the south of the map.

I just made a DEM and tried modifying the pixel size and all that ... the map area shown above does turn out to be somewhat excessive in size for a map. I had problems with memory in Microdem, even when i used a smaller proportion (1pix=55m instead of the standard 1pixel=50m)

I do think a map of the Mareth Line area would be a good idea, but perhaps for a separate and smaller map ...

If you do a map for the south, remember to include Kairouan airfield Big Grin

Hi mates!

Such area should be wonderful to reproduce the air lift from Tunisia and Sicily from Torch to the last days!

Kasserine can be also included here and about the Mareth line in a separate map I agree too!

cheers

When the map doesn't load, hit + at the same time to bring up the full error message ...

MrOblongo Wrote:But that doesnt include Bone Harbour Big Grin

I've been looking on Google maps and nowhere does Bone seem to appear ... neither on Google Earth, Google Maps, yahoo maps nor on a number of search hits ... so rather than continue to keep on looking, could you maybe place it on the map?

Maybe it's changed names in the meantime, but still ... if so, then without a name it's hard to find ...

- MrOblongo - 17.04.2010

Look the Info File I uploaded, it have maps of all. The name of the Harbour today is Annaba. Present day names are quite different from the ww2 era ones it seems.

That's a good and useful map ... thanks.

But since i was looking for 'Bone, Tunisia' on the map sites, I never got any results ... no wonder. I knew the name was familiar though ...

Anyway, I think Bone is best left for another map ... it would just be too large a map if Bone were included ...

Spain_Tex_Gray_35.tga - LEPEREMAGLOIRE - 18.04.2010

For me too, After looking through all the textures Ag_, I found nothing. I substituted in the grey_38.tga load.ini MrO_Tunis card, and it works fine

Well, still working on this.

Cannot find any info or photo or diagram of this airfields, apart from the aproximate location given by wikipedia. Any info would be appreciated.

Tindja-Sud
Kairouan (Same as Hani? or another airfield) found another map with an airfield called Oglat Si. el Amrani. south of Kairouan.
Souk el Arba (At least two airfields in this area, 12km ESE "Victoria" and 12km ENE "Waterloo")
Souk el Khemis
Ebba Ksour
Le Kef

Thanks!
