He's obviously talking about the Frankenplane...

Okay.
I DL'd the P-80A recently and noticed it has the blue flame of the MiG-9 and Ta-183. I think that would be good addition for the Sabre. That way you didn't have that big orange flame shooting out the back. a little more realistic to me.
Awfull work !! - Docholiday - 07.04.2009
Will there be an own FM for Your Sabre ? The FM of thw YP-80 is not really realistic, You know. perhaps the FM of the P-80 MOD for bridging the time ??? The P-80 seems to have the advantage that she does not burning / cut of the engine like the YP-80.
Thanks for Your work !!!! For me the Korea - Project is as important like the WW1 - Project.

Yes, there will be a FM for the Sabre. It will include airbrakes, slats, droptanks, ECT.

Furthermore the P80 has the same FM as the YP80!
No new FM there too... :?
We all are waiting for the proper FM+ejection seat...
Thank you PeterD - farang65 - 08.04.2009
The F-86 is completely awesome.
Finally got around to flying it the other night.
In just a quick mission I shot down 3 of Rawner's Mig make overs.
Sorry Rawner's
Works like a charm.
Cheers Kirby

We have a pilot in our squad who flew Hellcats in the Navy and also flew early jets such as the P-80. He is very unhappy with the FM Oleg did with many of the planes. He also said the P-80 was the best plane he ever flew. Of course many of the pilots in our squad and other pilots tried to reason with Oleg over the FM/DM of many planes in this sim. They even provided engineering documents and much, much information. It was hopeless. I am asking that whomever does the FM/DM does this plane justice. I hope all new slot planes get the proper FM/DM. He prefers not to try to push his points in these forums any longer. I don't blame him after all the years of trying to help these planes get the correct modeling while IL-2 was being developed and planes added, it just tired him out. He also retired from the Navy and worked as an engineer at Boeing.
Thanx..

I agree with Howlin. Modding takes quite a large amount of time and the people here aren't stupid, they're aware of the issues with what they create. Bare in mind this is a "Work-in-Progress" section, so be patient, please.

does the word *BETA* mean anything these days?

the Sabre and the Mig are going to be epic!

hey guy, don't be so defensive... if I came across as being mean, that wasn't my intention, besides, you make it sound like you are personnally being asailed and hammered by people who want a good job done, better than previous attempts. I personnally do not track who is doing what, and am not focusing on anyone person, or group, or whoever. I was making a blanket statement. Much of it is lamenting about what happened in the past and what could have been.
If you are making planes, modelling, or helping in some projects, I didn't know... it appears this place gets very hostile with people who say anything percieved as being mean. Don't get so upset, as I know people here are having fun with their hobby and try their best. I just get worred when others percieve US planes as crap and model them like junk. That's what Oleg did. That's why I just say outloud in forums, please don't do that. They were better than what happened the first go-round. I know you are not Oleg. Again, I do not know who is making what, and I am not stalking anyone. I was just saying what I think, no more, no less.
To whoever is making stuff, thanx for taking so much time and effort, I know you are working hard, and taking time out in your busy life to share your work. I know you guys are not trying to pork anything.

Here here! Lets hope that this will be the 1st US plane modeled correctly, BTW the model for the F-86 is beautiful!

Just downloaded the Sabre - looks great, shines spectacular, have ideal shape, flies like.. P-80 (just kidding).
The damage model is amazing - the ripped of nose is great, as well as a falling of gun cowling that lets you to have a glimpse inside the machinegun compartment. Moreover the texture-based holes do looks outstanding.
The oxygen supply is nicely visually modeled, with whole new oxygen mask.
May I have a little question? Will be the canopy openable, like for example on Mig-9 (mentioned it as similar, sliding backwards bubble canopy ), it is so nice to have such ability; I don't know how time consuming it is to add animation and coding of such feature: just asking.

Great so far! I am having a blast just flying this around in QMB. This plane has about the best visibility from the cockpit of any in the game.
And the new skins for it are wonderful- thanks to Peter and the whole team working on this. Another high-quality mod from AAA!
