Thanks.

First Outstanding mod 8)
Next, found bug you may not be aware of, (didn't want to read all 25 pages of responses so excuse me if this is repeated.)
Nose and front gear were damaged and gone...very cool damage BTW...but I was able to land as if nose gear was still attached to plane. even kicked up dust. So just a minor detail needing work. Love this plane  Curious on future load outs you have planned.

Actually 86, it has been posted, but that's cool. The problem was resolve but I think Pete's going to issue the fix with the next major update when he's able to get the FM finished. Big task that.

Ok, the way I figure it we have to work on the following....
- Get BAD-GRANT to finish and release his fantatic hi def Sabre template, I hate seeing do so much art work done by people on a less than stellar template.
- Create a centralized skin download area. .either here or maybe flying legends? Having them in individual topics scatters them all over the forum.
- Convince PeterD to update the Beta with the drop tanks.. I know they won't work but they look so cool its killing me not being able to drop them at 40K and watch from external view
- Convince PeterD thet the Mig-9 cockpit is a great Mig-15 Beta cockpit so he should do the exterior model first
- Get the Korea map makers kicked into high gear!
- Get a Korea server up and running in Hyper Lobby so we can get some jet on jet action going!
Template F86 - Guest - 10.04.2009
Firstly I would like to thank PeterD for his fantastic model. As an amatuer skinner, I have found that the mapping is logical and user friendly. The inclusion of the UV layout is a great help and it would be so useful to include this in all templates. I intend no critism of the great work that he has done on this.
One of the problems with the current template as released is that the rivets are merged onto the metal finish layer. This is a problem for skinners as any markings sit on top of this detail and look wrong. It is also important to have control of the depth of rivets and lines. I have put up some RAAF painted skins (see skin section) with my own rivet/line layers to provide an interpretation the CA-27 Sabre Mk32. I am currently working on a dull alloy skin and bright metal skin but it takes some skill to get it to look "right" in the game. It is very much a "learning process" for me at the moment. I am also very much aware of some of the exellent work in this area and some of the brilliant skins done by some very talented people (the list is long and I know I will not do everybody justice if I tried to name them...)
Because of their work we are all "standing on the shoulders of giants" so to speak.
Regards

I agree with the previous post.
This is one of the easiest aircraft to skin in the entire sim.
Loads of fun and it doesn't even have its own FM yet.
When its completed this will be truly outstanding.

Think of the time involved here.. PeterD went from a blank slate to a finished product in less than a month.. the template with layers will be getting better and better...hopefully the artists making such great AC will work with the best blank canvas when its available..
Just wait until the Mig15 model is done and then eventually when these AC have FM's that approximate the planes in question.. that will be a lot of fun.

I'm trying to install the mod, but I have no MOD folder, and no air.ini file. I purchased the game through Steam, does that affect it?
- Grizzly_35thCAG - 10.04.2009
Barman you need to download the Unified Installer. Then you will have those folder (and alot more)

This screenshot(from a french website) shows the air brakes deployed. It was my understanding that these were not yet functional. If I'm wrong would someone in the know explain to me how to deploy them :?
having a bit of trouble with photobucket today

I'd like to know that too.

Is it the same model?
- US_GRANT - 10.04.2009
It sure looks like the same one. Even sporting one of Harpia_Mafra's skins.
- JG14_Jagr - 10.04.2009
The features are not yet available in the Beta that we are flying. My understanding is that they are "done" in terms of the 3D model..they exist..you can see them. Whether or not they do anything yet is another issue.. like fuel tanks.. they don't supply fuel yet..code needs to be changed for them to work properly..same for brakes, leading edge slats etc.
Patience is a virtue (I have none..I'd love to have them just for looks too
)
