I need help with this from a campaign maker. We're coming up to Christmas and I'm going to have a bit of free time to work on this. But I need your help to do it.
I've bitten off more than I can chew with an 80 mission campaign.
The missions are done, and it has taken hundreds of hours of work. But getting it from where it is, to the point of making it available is a challenge that I can't do alone.
I need someone who can motivate and help me finish this off and get it out there. Please get in touch if you are willing and able to help me with this.
Thanks,
Huxley.

I don't have enough spare time to help (i use what small time i have to play other's campaigns
), but i can try to support this way:
1/don't work that much on it that you get disgusted.
2/finish something, so you are happy to share
3/you can realease in episodes, 80missions is much to create, it's also much to play (weeks, even months for me). Try to finish the first 10/20 missions part (skins, briefings testing, packing, realeasing), depending on your spare time. Then see how people react to your try. If you get at least one enthousiastic answer, it means 20 to 40 are enjoying your work. Then it'll motivate you enough for the next 10/20 missions
Hold on m8 8)

Ha... you're right. I guess this would be best released in batches of 10.
OK I'm on it.
Cheers rollnloop

sorry, this may be a dumb question, but i have to ask.
how do those screens look so realistic/amazing compared to normal game?
is there a photorealism mod out there that i'm not aware of?

Just my 2 cents:
1) Play with OpenGL in perfect mode (HardwareShaders=1 in conf.ini's openGL settings)
2) Max out all graphics settings in conf.ini, such as Water=4 for Nvidia, effects=1, Forest=3, Landgeom=3, etc.
3) Play on recent and/or modded maps with new textures, tree lines, etc.
4) Use Avala's plane shine mod
5) Use nice skins with MAT manager for decent markings
6) Use reskinned objects and/or new skins for existing objects such as buildings, tanks, ships, trains, vehicles, airfield plates, etc, all available here.
7) Use the native resolution of your monitor (set also full screen in conf.ini if necessary)
After that, shake all the ingredients, make a nice cocktail. Make sure it plays on your PC; if not, buy a new one or upgrade...
Use QTim's mod for taking as many screenshots as you want in .jpg format, launch missions and set the game to autopilot, remove speedbar and icons, remove HUD messages (option in conf.ini) to have a clean screen, and... watch the show, take many pictures like a skilled photographer would do (take care of light reflections, viewing distance and angles).
ENJOY THE SHOW!
Even though this game is old, it does provide excellent picture quality if your graphics settings are adequate, without any trick regarding screenshots. Mods help, but even without mods you can get nice pictures. I must say that Avala's plane shine mod and map mods with new textures help a lot though, and if you add new airfield plates and objects' skins you reach a new level.

i actually re-installed and started fresh with 4.08 mod, and since discovered the conf.ini file (3d gunners/water. etc)
PC should handle em well, and thanks for the input dude

Hey Hux, this looks like a good one, looking forward to it mate.
Good luck.

This campaign looks superb Huxley, stay with it. Campaign building is a very frustrating endeavour, constant playtesting is necessary to ensure all is well. Eighty missions is a challenge I personally wouldn't have a go at, Fifteen to twenty minimum is about right, anything more and players tend to loose interest. Releasing a series of smaller campaigns is a better way to go, at least as far as your sanity is concerned. Any tweak can end up adding many hours, even days, to the finished product and it can feel like it takes over your life completely. If you need any help with specific problems generally help is available from the community, just post or mail, one of us will be able help out.
All the best, Pete.

G'day Hux, just checking in. How you doing mate, are still going at it or have you had to change everything for the new UI version?
Hang in there, it will be worth it in the long run.
