Works and saves fine here, although I opted for a manual install rather than the auto.
One trap for the unwary, the map comes in a folder called ffb_Thailand, but the readme says to make an entry
Thailand Thailand/load.ini. Just a wee detail but might save some people some time.
Apart from that, top notch Sir! It reminds me a lot of Maskriders scenery for CFS2 ( and I mean that as a compliment). :wink:
The Beau's love it too:

... that's my fault , i'm afraid .... forgot to alter ffb's readme after reorganizing files :oops:
prefix in folder name ( map name) is mandatory cos you never know if user have similar folder present
sorry for confusion

Can someone throw together a quick mission for it (4X4 red and 4X4 blue) because I keep getting 'wrong target selected' lol

make sure map name specified in conf.ini ( under quicks) is the same you've used in mission name
example :
Custom7=fly_Z_Britain_Autumn
fly_Z_Britain_AutumnBlueAirbase00.mis
btw, please further discussions move to maps disscission section

Many, many thanks for help from Zulu64 for sending me reworked static.ini combining all the objects from LAL_Rone's Hanger mod, Canon's BoB, and Fabianfred's map. It works like a charm and
Goddamn this is a beatiful map!
I think Quelty is right about the install order and overwrites of the staticl.ini, judging from my various attempts yesterday to add Canon's map (I've had the hanger mod since it was releasedich was eventually succesful, then ff's Thai map late in the day after a beer or two. :roll:

Speaking for myself.......I can never get over looking at the mini-map in flight and seeing the hills shape exactly matched upon the ground....and with the new far distance available to Perfect users with the 4.09 the hills go off in layers and layers into the distance
I have made a steaky looking texture to replace the dirt strips...it looks more like a muddy well used strip....
I will include it in a later patch

New mission out
viewtopic.php?t=6731
I build the map, make the special objects and trees, make the regiments/squadrons, make the flag, make a few skins ........ and I still have to make the missions :roll: :wink:
Does everyone else have jobs or something... am I the only one retired around here ...lol 8)
- saunders1953 - 28.07.2008
fabianfred, I for one appreciate all your work...I won't be retired for two or three more years.
The Wild Blue mission won't load as is...the .mis file has the map named "Thailand/load.ini" but needs to be "ffb_Thailand/load.ini"
Cheers, mate!

Does this map require other mods such as raised men/boxes, flag pack, Strand Station building etc. to work? Because those things also exist in your static.ini list.
I'm sorry to say it but installing this mod has been a case study in frustration for me. Long story short, after 2-3 hours of work with this thing here is where I am:
The map will not save for me either, something I'm looking at -
Your static file contains all the different nations flags, and also building downloads such as the Strand station and so forth. This is _in addition to_ Canon and LAL Rone's objects.
Canon's and LAL Rone's object I had already downloaded - however - I had never downloaded the flag pack or the Strand station building...could this be the problem that they show in the static.ini but were never downloaded by me?
Also, now in my FMB objects list, objects 297-304 do not show up - there is simply nothing there as you cycle through. I am assuming that this is the problem now, but haven't tested it yet.
Next step
?) I guess I can either download the objects that exist in your static.ini that I had not previously downloaded - i.e. flag pack, strand station etc.
OR
I can go through all the lines of the static.ini and delete the lines for those seperate mods that I hadn't previously downloaded???
Like these:
// ++++men at height+++++
+++++LondonBlock2+++++++++++++++
[buildings.House$EnglandLondonBlock2]
[buildings.House$GermanySaracensHead]
+++++++++++++++++++Strand+++++++++++++++++
[buildings.House$Strand1]
[buildings.House$Strand2]
[buildings.House$Strand3]
//===========================================================================
[***]
Title Flags
//===========================================================================
//===========================================================================
[***]
Title Trains
//===========================================================================
There are also rail and vehicle extras, motorcycles, elevated boxes etc. that were not originally downloaded by me.
^^Can all of that stuff from seperate mods that many of us may not have downloaded yet be a source of the problem^^?

You should first have tried installing the mod and adding the lines to my objects into your own static.ini
If that didn't work then I put my own static ini file there for people to try
Extra items in the static ini...such as flags and strand buildings and motorcycles etc....you can ignore
if you do not have the folders with these items in your MODS folder...then nothing will show up when you look through the list of objects in the FMB...but that will not cause the problem with a map
if the map has any objects upon it which are NOT in the static ini then there will be a problem
if the items ARE in the static ini but no data in the MODS folder...the items will not show upon the ground
my map has the UK Jack and Thai flags..and they are a part of the map pack

Yes, I had already taken these steps.

Then I'm all out of ideas I'm afraid. I'm going to download the map pack and see what happens :lol:

Well, can you guys maybe share your solution please?
I've spent four hours working to get this thing going and I'm about to give up on it.

Send us a PM with an Email I will send you my Static.ini , that has fixed it for a couple of people.
