I quite love Carrier Take Off mod, is it possible to mix them together?

certificate: You are doing a great thing for us. This is fantastic!

The eternal Barrel Roll introduced in 4.01 was simply obnoxious

1.7 works well here. Thanks again for the upgrade!

Here's a shot of me (smoking) running back to Luqa in a near-vertical spiral dive. Hotly pursued by a mixed bag of veteran, average and possibly one or two ace 109F's and Mc202's. They seem to have their temper restored! Tongue

Wouldn't having two sepreate AI mod folders conflict with one another?

CERT_AI_MOD folder now needs to be deleted, correct?

I would think.. I failed to do that and once I did it it did work better...

fractional Wrote:v1.7: I think that the AI has occasional problems with detecting enemy on their 6, even when under fire. While sometimes being *blind* during a high-speed bounce, especially out of the sun, is ok (infact it is great), once the shooting has started, the *awareness* factor should be higher than normal IMO.

EDIT: Oh, by the way, all AI were veteran.

S.

I'm noticing this as well in v1.7. Just ran 30 P-40s against 30 Ki-100s and saw several instances where planes were late in taking evasive maneuvers; in some cases they would only evade after the enemy on their six stopped firing at them!

Yes, this is really the best thing that you can do if you're experiencing weirdness.

walter_solito Wrote:Hi!

It's a long topic and read all post can bother someone but if those is made a lot of post had a previous responce.....so please be patient and read all!!!

1 - newer version have the name changed from CERT_AI_MOD to AI_MOD so if you upgrade from the first to the second delete the CERT.....and install only the AI....

2 - Seek that you haven't the "Carrier Take Off" and/or "Nav Lights Off for AI" mods because they are in conflict with AI_MOD (if you have one or either those mods rename it with '-' or delete at all) and AI can't work properly

3 - Specify which kind of mission you had flyed: 'COOP' - 'ONLINE' - 'OFFLINE' - 'SINGLE' etc etc and how this mission was generated: by QMB - FMB - DCG etc etc so certificate can know more easly if there is a real bug or not (he made a lot of work so we MUST help it better)

4 - for head on attack please check if the AC that you have can perform those kind of attack (not all are able to make it by historical issue)

Thanks walter, I'm going to add this information to the first post.
Quote:About the navigation light can be made three separate files for each request? I specify: someone love the nav on and so will load the AA88EEXXXXX file that allow it , someother love the nav off so will load the same AA88EEXXXXX file that allow it , the remain people love softened light so the'll load the same AA88EEXXXXX file that allow it.
You can made a standard version that have the light turned in the more appropriate kind you'll fell to do and in the download folder you can add the other modified two so who fell light in a different way can overscribe the mod file with the one of his better agreement.

regards

walter

Yes, this is a good idea, and will be done, but it's still so early on in the project, that I don't want to have to create, compile, pack and upload multiple versions for every revision I make. Once I'm happy with it, or at least happy enough to come out with a stable release, I'll do this.

Yes, eventually, but since (as far as I know) we're both actively working on them you can't really expect us to co-ordinate builds of beta code each time.

- RRuger - 26.01.2009

Thanks for updating the front page and the installation proceedure Certificate.

For the first time in my life of flying IL2 I saw it happen, the AI wingman took after a 190 that was pounding his wingy. Did you address this Certificate? I know that this is the current topic but I'm not sure if V17 has fixed this or was it just an anomaly :?:

Offline, CanonUK 'Channel map' AI flying the Tempest...

BTW, thanks for all your hard work Wink

- Triad773 - 26.01.2009

Thanks certificate! This sure is a great effort you know is soooo welcome Big Grin

General observations from .16 last night (from same mission as listed previously):
Split into Macro and Micro - not sure what difference on a programming level they may mean, but here:

- Micro: generally the Ai pilots seem to have more skill and less aggressiveness when near enemy

- Macro: enemy Ai tend to fly though formations before attacking

Hope that may be of some use.

Also thanks for your frequent updates 8)

More later

Cheers

Triad

carmelid Wrote:A reasonable behavior for two attacked plans is to split, so the wingman can sneak behind the aggressor and try to shoot him down, or at least force him off from his leader's tail. The IL-2 interpretation for "cover my back" is something like "fly behind me and mimic my maneuvers until we are both dead".

I like this, however I only think it would be appropriate for skill levels of Veteran and above. This type of flying

- ROSOBORONEXPORTCORP - 26.01.2009

If a pair split they will quickly get separated in combat, until the fight is mainly one-on-one. This actually happened in the original Il-2. The attempt to have pairs stick together so that they can assist each other later in the fight was a new feature in Il-2FB (and much welcomed by the community). I wouldn't remove it.

- Potenz - 26.01.2009

Hi cert!, i just was thinking about somethin last night, i was playing a mission with 2 fighter flights, and i was wondering if you can change the way that fighters form up when are differents flight, what i say is if you can make fighters form up like bomber do in a onw flight and not like it's now that you have the second flight lottering over you like it they are scorting bomber.

Just an idea, you are the master here so you only know if this is possible.

thx

Potenz
