@Crankshaft,

What version web browser are you using. Also do any other pics show in the browser if you go back a couple of pages on this thread?

- Vpmedia - 30.09.2008

usually its the user and not the browser

in this case you need only part of the link provided by photobucket

most forums doesnt allow direct html codes in posts, guess why Wink

put this http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj114/p_oncho/d25left.jpg

into a image tag

@Crankshaft

You should control the ceck boxes, if you post something.

please make sure you have un-checked

[ ] Disable HTML in this post
[ ] Disable BBCode in this post
[ ] Disable Smilies in this post

Than all should be ok.

All that stuff is disabled, and I did copy and paste the URL, and that is the only post in this thread where I can't see the pictures.

I have the option of changing the reticle size back to the standard 100M size for the MK8 sight on the D27 because it no longer shares the reticle mesh with the K14 on the Late.

The question I have is which reticle size is more preferred by users?

A. the reticle currently on the gunsight mod.

or B. the original size on the stock P47s?

The K14 sight would remain as is in either case.

As the pit release grows near I would like to clean up some of these loose ends.

The larger reticule is nice for us old farts, easier to see .

- taurus - 04.10.2008

The larger seems more logical, and yeah, easier to see.

(Very nice to see the iron sight aligning with the reflector sight too! attention to detail = rounds on target!!!)

- Catahoulak9 - 04.10.2008

ponco,

If the smaller reticle is one of mine, then it is sized to 200m for a Bf109. When I first posted my bright reticles I thought the N-9 type sight was range adjustable so I offered a resized reticle for 200m convergence settings in addition to the 100m stock size. Later I learned the N-9 was not adjustable (see quote below) so I removed the 200m reticle sizes.

Therefore, I believe the 200m size was a mistake on my part and is not historically accurate.

Unfortunaltely, the N-9 was not adjustable. From USAAF T.O. No. 1F-51D-1 dated 15 July 1952, Pg. 61

Quote:FIRING GUNS WITH N-9 SIGHT INSTALLED.
Since the N-9 sight is a noncomputing reflex type with .
a fixed reticle, no control is provided other than the
rheostat for reticle brilliance
. The principle of operation
is the apparent projection of the reticle image in
space, which is similar to having the reticle image
superimposed on the target. When the target is framed
by the reticle, the guns may be fired by depressing the
trigger on the control grip.
