Hello Zipzapp !!!
Could we overwrite the previous version of your map (version1.0) with this 1.1 update ?
- zipzapp - 05.10.2008
Yes, and the installer will do it for you.

zipzapp Wrote:Never heard of that kind of crash related especially to my map. In what kind of mission does that appear? Funny enough i made the experience the game runs best if started with "multiplayer/new server" even in a single mission. May be you'll try this. Apart from that it seems there are generally some problems due to the size or kind of the actors.static. I'm making a last attempt to solve this, and if it still doesn't runs properly the only solution will be splitting the file into a western and to a eastern part. It's just that nobody has any expierience with a such big and heavy populated map and the game still hides some of its secrets.
I did some tests today and your tip seems to be the solution!
I copypasted my dogfightmission from my Missions/Single Missions folder to the Missions/Net/Coop folder and started the game from Main Menu/Multiplay/Create New Server/Cooperative. Doing this I don't have the crash anymore after 20 minutes. So I flew around from Istria to Trieste and ended up in Innsbruck in about 50 minutes and meanwhile enjoying those realistic landscapes.
And after quitting my flight I don't have the other gamecrash to desktop like many others had.
Thanx for your assistance zipzapp.
Rollnloop: your tip worked as well. When I select my mission in the Single Mission option in the Main Menu I start recording my flight for a minute or two and can keep on flying as long as I want to. No crash anymore after 20 minutes and no crash to desktop when I press Exit. Problems seem to be solved now! Thank you too!

I have frustrating thing. First time I load it from FMB it says something about java error in load.ini and second time I try to load it, Il2 crashes.

Jarmo, make sure that your FMB is set up as "mission builder" and not "map builder".
Loading a highly populated map like zipzapp's in the "map builder" FMB will inevitably fail and later on crash the FMB, memory resources are simply depleted.
Hope this helps ...

How to set up as mission builder?
- vampire_pilot - 12.10.2008
it is the setup as it comes with the game.
you would have to separately setup the Map-builder mode with a mod. if you have not done so, you are in the mission builder mode.
maybe it is just your rig.

If you decide to have a shot at map building (great fun but not for the faint of heart) make sure you read this thread too

I downloaded this map and installed it properly (I think) but I can't seem to find it anywhere in 4.08 or 4.09.
Any suggestions for a bear of very little brain?
Thanks.
Edit - Found it. Bye!

I have a strange error. The map is listed at both QMB+ and FMB but when I choose "zip_Alpen" in QMB+ and then hit fly I get the message "datafile is corrupt"; when I load the map into FMB and create a simple free flight mission, the mission is saved and loads normally but after loading the screen freezes in a fixed image that is solid gray on the bottom half and has a tilted mountain on the upper half of the screen...
Any ideas? I don't get any errors in other MOD maps...
Of course I downloaded the installer (v1.1) a second and a third time and the error remains...
