Ooops , I am sorry , I am late :oops:
Thank you for help , before trying to get it all work please do I need to put those 22 tga's files in to
Mapmods/Maps/_tex/land/summer as Compans suggested ? because I didn't pasted them in to this folder .
It shouldn't be a problem sooner or latter I will get it right , will experiment tomorrow a bit more .

Thank you !!!! indeed , after pasting TGA'a in to Mapmods/Maps/_tex/land/summer all is now working without a hitch :wink:
It's really my embarrasment not pasting those TGA's in to summer folder .

It doesn't screw up anything mate. Just paste textures into correct folder and get the file names right on the load.ini. If you make a copy of any original load.ini you can't go wrong!

This could help with map makers I bet, a lot less work in designing cities, but not real sure on that,lol
Here is 2 shots I took flying over London on Canon's beta map, and as you an see, the 3D impression from these new diles, really stands out. They would have to be realigned a bit (and as you can see, it looks like the lowland textures are bleeding through in some parts) but its just amazing how better it looks! Still think it would help the map makers, :lol:

Could someone please create .tree files for the fields? It would be paradise!
However, without them I still use the other sow fields with trees even though Compans' field look much better. I think it would be really needed to complete this mod. Thank you!

although some airfields in france seem to vanish under the new textures a small sacrafice :evil:

Got this up and running.. superb stuff!
Ref the airfield issue..It's not just on the French side.. Look at the English airfields, they have textures overlapping into airfield bounderies/and taxiways/dispersal areas etc.. but as stated.. small sacrifice!

NOTE, I modified Compans' bob fields textures a bit: a tad less saturation, lower brightness, but it's jsut for my taste, I think they'll fit nicely without any modification.

Don't forget that the beta wasn't made with Compans' textures, so the map isn't optimised for them.
The final release was made using Compan's textures from the start so there are no such issues.

Good to see you Joe!
Please remember that these textures were designed to be painted in so there are definite discrepencies when just writing in the ini. file. The cities work best when painting them in. The city files should work fine with no blurring in between tiles.
