I am brand new to U.P. 2.0. Can you give someone who is computer challenged (and 67 yrs old) the procedure to do this?

Thanks.

Well I did it a couple weeks ago, but best as I can remember, there was another post where was said:
to install...this is what i did:

1) create new folder in MODS folder and call it whatever you want... i just called it 'soundmod'
2) copy 'presets' and 'samples' into that folder
3) thats it

That was the method that worked for me. If it doesn't, go back and add a "-" to the front of the "soundmod" folder name. That will disable the mod til you can get back here and post any other questions.

Hope that helps Smile

I can certainly do that. But - in my U.P. game, my MODS folder has a "-" in front of it. Do I remove it, then do the above? In the U.I. game, dang near everything went into the MODS folder, and it didn't have a - in front.

Yes Bob- remove the dash from in front of your Mods folder and that will activate all mods inside. IF you try starting the game and get crash to desktop, then try putting a dash in front of the folders inside the Mod folder to see if that is hosing you up. Hopefully, you can just get the Mods folder to work just by getting rid of the dash.. Just try that for now and see what happens.

Good luck

About this mod and HSFX 4.1.1 with Ultmiate Sound Mod V2 - mavyalex - 09.03.2010

Hello,

Well what can I say? I just installed this mod in my MODS folder (I have HSFX 4.1.1 and Ultimate Sound Mod V2 by Tiger 33 and JSGME). No conflict at all and the F3 viewu is magnificent! Sounds are even better than Tiger's.!

I believe these sounds took over Tiger's sounds...I don't see any difference apar from the fly by view and sounds.

Can somebody confirm?

Also I noticed that most jet planes didn't have sounds in fly by with Ultimate Sound Mod V2 or maybe I'm the only one having this trouble?

And sometimes no cockpit sound at start of mission. I had to go in F3 view, then get back to cockpit to activate sounds.

Apart from that I say 9/10!

Not 10/10 because we can't hear the pilot breathing , speaking (real voice) or moaning (aarggh! I'm out of fuel! or something else...:-( )

thanks redbatflight! Big Grin

i'm glad this mod got updated. i was worried that it would be abandoned because of the previous issues. Sad

i love it!

Excellent Mod ! Added new life to Sturm-especially after update raising volume of AA and other fire.
Few bugs to report :
I 16 type 18 & 24- sound of engine almost unhearable both inside and outside.Interesting that I-16 type 5 & 6 are OK.
When enemy aircraft is shot down You hear some kind of click in the cockpit.
When changing outside view to any craft that shoot before-You hear short burst.
Just my 50 cents ; )
Thank You again RedBatflight !

Can you upload to filefront , I can,t download

- RavenHawk1988 - 15.03.2010

Ok... I have a problem with MG17 sounds.

I didn't like the ones in this mod. So I replaced them with sounds from somewhere else. Worked fine for a while. Now, however, I'm only hearing a subtle 'Brrrrt' for the MG17. And for the life of me I can't find out where it's coming from. It's not the stock sound and I've gone through several mods to see if it could be a remnant from one of them, but am unable to find a trace of it so far.

My question is, why would the game use another sound when the preset and sound files cleary state to use certain .wav files?

- thesmokingman - 19.05.2010

For the longest time, I've been looking for a proper sound mod, unlike English Soundmod which was useless. Oleg should have realized that sound is half of the experience of any game, and done this a long time ago. From all the sound lovers out there, thank you so much!

- thesmokingman - 19.05.2010

Furthermore, if Oleg knows talent when he sees it, he should hire you to do sounds for BoB, so we don't get more 3rd rate sounds. Rest of the game is fine, even still! Now it's perfect!
