OK guys, thanks for the feedback.
Here is a screen shot of Kahili (Buin) airfield, which I've just about finished-up. Actual combat photo provided for comparison. Still need to tweak it a bit, but I think you get the idea. LOL, one thing I noticed is I mistook a bomb crater for a revetment, in the lower left staging area. Also need to straighten the taxiway on the left.
This one took awhile - about 15 hours to be exact. The new method of using properly scaled, custom texture underlays to build these, helps tremendously.

That looks
great.
I have more images of kahili, though, the dispersals go far beyond what is shown on pacific wrecks. I was doing mine by hand. Also, some of the BDA pictures really made the eastern part look more like dirt, so I used dirt plates. That diagonal on the right shows on the BDA images as about 2 taxiways wide.
Guess I'll get the scanner out.

very nice but will us be able to put aircraft where we want and not on the strip automatically :?:

I agree. IMO any historical buildings should be on the default map; the pagoda at Henderson field, townships on Tulagi, seaplane bases, etc. All the detailed stuff like barrels, etc can be left to the imagination of the mission builder.
For example, I'm planning to litter the beaches and airfields with junk...

working on taxi waypoints. Getting some odd stuff to fix.

Doesn't look too odd there Spud. Just a little sheet metal work, some dope and fabric, and she'll be good as new!

Doing taxi-routes is mind-numbing! Plotting all the points, then creating loads of flights, waiting for them all to land, watch them taxi, hope they don't vanish, if they do try and spot the problem. Then do it again for the other landing directions!
Sheesh!

Just thought of a rather important question.
In a coop, does everyone have to have the new map or just the hoster :?:

Yeah, I'm having issues with ballale since adding the trees. I need to back them off. I tested with no trees though, and still had issues.

~S~Spud,
The screen shot posted is the earlier version of Kahili.
I think I have the pic you are referring to, and the darker colored textures you mention show-up in the later-war shots of Kahili, and appear to be a steel matting. For The Slot 43, 43L and 44 versions, that is the way it will appear...next on the long list
If you get the pics you have scanned let me know.

Your gonna do Barakoma last, aren't you?

I've spent longer making sure the damn taxi waypoints work than making the bloody airfields.
Yeesh.
Still have to move some trees so all the north side heavy hardstands work for AI. One more pass...
