Is it possible to build a campaign that takes place on different maps? In other words, is it possible to build a campaign that begins on the Slot map, and ends on the Rabaul map?

Sure. A scripted campaign, right?
Yeah, you can follow a VMF unit up through the Slot, then later the campaign could have you fly from Bougainville to New Britain and New Ireland.
A 5th AF campaign could have you fly vs Buna, then when it falls operate out of Buna to the next map.

stansdds Wrote:Rebsix, the F4U-1 and -1A had a range of about 1000 miles on internal fuel, so with good engine management you can probably make it from Guadalcanal to Rabaul and back without external fuel. It will take you about 6 hours to make that flight.
I know, just an off the cuff comment on how excited I am to get this map. Besides, who wants to count prop blades for 6 hours
hock:

Even the stock campaigns changed maps when you complete a stage...I know nothing of how DGEN works, but I see no reason why a dynamic campaign generator could not use the Slot as one stage, similar to the way Kursk or Berlin maps are used, all in the same pilot career

If you start a DCG dynamic campaign (without DCGGEN replacing DGEN) at Pearl Harbour after the raid the next mission switches you to the New Guinea campaign, so Id say there must be a MAP command in the default Peral Harbour info file DGEN uses. Maybe one of the DCG wizards like Scharnhorst can enlighten us how DGEN switches maps

Thats ok, I started another one!

Anyone of you talented guys given thought to making some damaged stationary aircraft to litter the airfields with? Just a thought.
- spud - 16.03.2008
Now that we can easily reskin the static planes, this should be possible for a specific campaign.
You might do the F4F-4(Multi) as a damaged skin, for example.

No worries on this, there are a handful of folks that are learning how to simple imput the new maps here, and the new 4.09 maps into the DCG so that you could create one with manual generation for offline, and Coop, along with Auto gen offline.
Meaning that we can set up a Grandcampaign in the DCG that will take you from Hawaii, to Maybe Midway for example, then to the SLOT, and then to the New Britian Map, and so on and so forth.

Nicely done, Hawk. Oh, and yeah, I like those pretty islands, too.

Nice way to get yourself banned Hawk
I find it ironic that there is a 2 page thread in the zoo asking why the forum is dying. All they need to do is look at how much venom is in WillyD!cs ban post to see how that forum is collapsing and dying before their eyes. The OT sub forum is just a way of preventing the inevitable. I saw good posts relating to WWII Aviation history moved to the OT lounge because it qoute "Has nothing to do with IL2"
These new moderators will kill that forum in no time.
IL2 was dying and AAA has offered a way to keep the dream alive and add content that was left out that we would have expected to have been in after paying money for first PF and then 1946. These people have rejected it and are happy to let it die becasue they are so behind the times. and unable to change their viewpoint. What takes the cake for me is that Skinning and mission making is M O D D I N G. But I suppose that they have double standards.

Amazing he hasnt been banned going on their usual intolerance and mods are not to be discussed here attitude, he is very subtle though in the names of his posts lol ie hawky's post is titled the name of an aircraft but its a pic of the aircraft on the ground on an airfield in "the slot" thats real sneaky, i like his style
Well its their loss, the amazing work at this site will keep people like me playing IL2 for quite a while yet, and if they have their heads so far up u know where then its their bad luck

The stupid few have no standards...they're just bigots
I'm proud to have been banned there....by idiots...in the name of the mods....and refuse to sit down and shut-up.....I have had PM's thanking me for directing people to this site
