[WIP] El Alamein - viking4570 - 19.06.2009

This is my current project - coming along nicely. I need to finish detailing map_T and populate the towns. I am planning on making extensive use of dlv's wonderful Egypt objects. All you RAF blokes who got your butts kicked on my Crete map can exact your revenge here, as in RL  -Cheers - viking

Thanks to mandrill7 for the concept.

4.09 version?

1:1 scale and compatible with UI 1.1.1 plus dlv's Egypt objects. Although I don't think I have used any 4.09 objects in it, so I suppose it will be compatible with 4.08 plus the Egypt objects. -viking

Thanks to mandrill7 for the concept.

Well actually, Alex, I got the concept from Monty and I think HE got the concept from Auchinleck.

But looking good anyway!

For my next suggestion, why don't you think about a future project for the Mareth Line/ Southern Tunisia?? Same textures and same objects, I would think.

Thanks Poltava - BTW I'm on the last mission of your Darwin Defenders campaign, and I thought it was great. Next I plan to start your Battleaxe campaigns. -cheers, viking

Naturally - all of the 20+ new textures included with my Crete map are photo textures, and I've made about a dozen for this map. -viking

Looks nice, but there is something I noticed in my own flailing attempt to retexture the NE Libya map with Google Earth tiles some months ago.

The game engine makes the Google Earth tiles very light and bright. I never figured out how to control that and "tone down" the colour to a darker, duller sand shade.
