Icon (and dot) modding possible?
#1

I always play with icons off. That said, due to limitations of computer monitors, the dot size, etc in il-2, I find that realistic boom and zoom is pretty difficult.

Ages ago at ubi, I suggested that there be a new type of plane icon. Right now, the 3 types are range, range and plane type and range/type/plane number (flight, etc).

I understand the mp dotrange settings, what I'd like is a mod that would change all the icons to a single ascii character.

Either: + .

Nice. Is it a kind of a hard coded mod or just some command line console commands for icons?

Oh, I see... Will this mod be available for public use or is a part of another one?

Does this override the defaults or coexist with them?

This is separate mod, most likely it will be available for public.

It coexist with old icons, depending on your mp_dotrange settings you can choose different combination.

Only thing that is not possible is to have them both displayed at the same time but having them both would be stupid anyway. If you have full default icons than you really don't need another character on your screen.

Sounds great. If you finish your mod work please make it public on this forum. Salut!

Looks like the site hosting the images (ImageVenue) is infected? I got this warning from my AntiVirus, ESET's NOD32:

SWF/TrojanDownloader.Gida.A trojan and similar...
