While some of the mods are designed to work with the 4.05 version of the game, most seem to require the Il2 '46 version 4.08 or 4.09beta- which includes everything in your version and more. Well worth the money.

Sorry for my confusion. I've got IL2 Sturmovik + Forgotten Battles + Pacific Fighters all in one merged installation. I thought I had all the official add-ons. Is there something else I need to add (I'm not sure about Il2 '46)?

1946 is the standard any more. It includes all the add-ons, etc. It's cheap now, and worth the price at full retail, and a bargain at what it goes for now.

basically reaper its like this.

IL2 + FB + PF = 4.05 (which is where you are i believe)

IL2 + FB + PF + PE2 + 1946 = 4.08 (which is what the mod is based on)

1946 is a compilation of all of the games together, so you buy 1946 and you're already up to 4.08. apply mods and then you can install 4.09 (with tweaks, installation tips found on this server)

Other Options:
You could also download PE2 and pay 30 bucks for it which would get you to 4.07 and thus nowhere, or you could download 1946 direct to drive from ubi and it get you nowhere.

My recco = go buy 1946 on disc. you can pick it up most places for 19.99. Then apply mods and rekindle your love with IL2.

Not quite....... FB + AEP + PF can only be taken up to 4.04m with free patches. For 4.05m you need the Pe-2 addon, which was a paid addon only available through download (no longer individually available from UBI). The 1946 DVD is a complete install of FB + AEP + PF plus all subsequent free patches and paid addons which takes you to 4.07m in one go. All you need to add to that is 4.08m, another free addon, plus as an option the Beta version of 4.09m, which will be the FINAL patch for IL2FB and its offspring.

OK guys, I bought 1946 this morning and started download before leaving for work. Hopefully it will be waiting for me when I get home!

Do I now delete my old IL2 + AEP + FB + PF?
