Has there been an effort to adjust the ugly generic il-2 pilot helmet and goggles?

It's one of the few things that annoyed me since day one. Even the german pilots that are supposed to look snazzy end up with the ugly square goggles and the helmet with the soviet lump.

Is the 3D model used on the pilot the same as the 3D model used on the HE111 bombardier when seen from cockpit view? Cause that thing is hideous.
