Problems saving missions.
#1

Hello!

I've been using the expanded mission builder to try to build missions. However, I've found that I cannot save the missions at all. I can save the map, but the mission files themselves, I've not had any luck.

Is there any way to save ingame? And, is it possible to use the ingame editor to save a runway to a mission file? (I know that you can text-edit them in, so I do know that method is doable).

Thanks in advance.

This only applies if you are creating a map from scratch.

First make sure you have the FMB in map creation mode. The objects dialog must have the objects labled as

Runway Ground
Airdrome Points

Use the Runway Ground (directional take off point)

Then use the Airdrome Points menu and select
-> Runway (show the extend of the runway from beginning to end)
-> Taxi (used to enable the AI to land and taxi, use the way points [ a circle ] as node branches)
-> Stay (use the nodes mentioned point 0 on the Taxi waypoints, and 1 at the ending point [where the AI would stop]

Another tip is to load the Test mission and study the map. It should give you plenty of data.

This might be a very long winded explanation but you need to have Runway Ground and Airdrome Points to be able to populate the map.

Also make sure you have a folder in your game root folder called Map with a sub folder whose name is the same map you are editing. Once you save the added items you added noted above, retrieve it and place the modified files (actor.static) in your game/mod/maps folder .

Hope that helped

Thank you, but to be more specific, I'm meaning missions, not maps. I can save maps fine. Smile

I know that runways can be placed as an object, but whenever they're loaded, the mission cannot be saved. :?

... extend or unlocked FMB can not handle mission files so you need to revert to default one for that ( bldconf.ini )

easiest way is to have two bldconf.ini backed up ( vanilla and unlocked one ) and just switch them as needed ...

hope that explains it

Okay, so that means to edit and save mission files with things like this:

Code:
[MAIN]
  MAP Empty1a/load.ini
  TIME 12.0
  CloudType 0
  CloudHeight 1000.0
  army 1
  playerNum 0
[NStationary]
  0_Static vehicles.planes.Plane$A_20G 1 12783.95 10846.57 360.00 0.0 null
  1_Static vehicles.stationary.Smoke$Smoke15 0 12143.13 11446.59 360.00 20.00
[Buildings]
  0_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12783.13 10846.59 360.00
  1_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12743.13 10846.59 360.00
  2_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12703.13 10846.59 360.00
  3_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12663.13 10846.59 360.00
  4_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12623.13 10846.59 360.00
  5_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12583.13 10846.59 360.00
  6_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12543.13 10846.59 360.00
  7_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12503.13 10846.59 360.00
  8_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12463.13 10846.59 360.00
  9_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12423.13 10846.59 360.00
  10_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12383.13 10846.59 360.00
  11_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12343.13 10846.59 360.00
  12_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12303.13 10846.59 360.00
  13_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12263.13 10846.59 360.00
  14_bld Plate$ConcreteRunway 1 12223.13 10846.59 360.00
  15_bld Plate$ConcreteRunwayEnd 1 12183.13 10846.59 360.00
  16_bld Plate$ConcreteRunwayEnd 1 12783.13 10806.59 180.00
  17_bld Plate$ConcreteConnect 1 12703.13 10846.59 90.00
  18_bld Plate$GroundRunway 1 12183.13 11406.59 360.00
  19_bld Plate$GroundRunwayEnd 1 12143.13 11446.59 360.00
[BornPlace]
  1 3000 6444 9105
[Bridge]
[House]

...That I will need to make an actual mod for it.

Dang. Sad

(P.S. The above code DOES work as a mission. You just cannot save in the editor)

EDIT - Found a mod (The link is inoperative) that works. Nevermind. Big Grin Someone please sticky the thread I linked!
