well IL2 works perfectly here ... Vista 64 ultimate SP2

you need to assign as much access rights as you can for your account ( administrative tools) then turn off UAC ( user account control ) and install programs under " run as administrator "

Windows 7 seams nice but lack of drivers for some hardware are still keeping me away from it ( audigy2 ... Nvidia ...)

Ah...maybe that's why I had no trouble with IL-2 installed in program files. I turned that stupid thing off the first day I fired this PC up.

run CCleaner to clean up the registry entries left behind, reboot the system, then install the game again and use the path you want.

Mine is D:\Games\IL2_1946

All is ok now. You have right with this CCleaner and registry. I think my first instalation was make few errors in registry and that was a problem for next... now i can have il2 where i want. Ty again.
