I have been trying to install these mods after a catastrophic problem.. from scratch.. and I gotta tell you.. maybe it's just me.. but with all the frustration that I have been having for the past few days... THIS part is more grief.. Has anyone updated the instructions for installing these mods under the UI? If so can someone.. ANYONE be so kind as to point me in the right direction because ... I have just about had it...
Thanks in adavnce
I guess I am following you around today, sorry but the absolute best advice I can give is, once you have installed the official Unified Installer from this site, use mods with self installers and let them do the work.
I have never had a self installed mod, be it maps, planes, effects, etc., fail.
As for mods without self installers, problems may arise but a lot of searching and questioning usually leads to resolution.
I sympathize with your frustration, I have gone through it as have many others, the only cure for that is patience.
Since the UI from this site, my frustration level has declined a bunch.
If you want to skip the UI and use another, or no soundmod, go here: viewtopic.php?t=6632
I did it awhile back and the UI made it redundant but it is there for the using.
Hey BC, sorry you're having grief!
What sort of problems are you seeing? The only ones I've seen recently are downloads for 'manual' install which have folders within folders e.g. MODS/MODS/folder name if you see what I mean, but then I always check the file structure before installing.
Hope you get sorted, you know it's worth it
I figured it out.. I had to get the other version to look at the file structure to compare it but I got it..

If you have access to the BR site go there... I maintain a link of AAAui instructions and "TESTED" MODS.
It's located under
Black Riders Squadron | Public Community Forums | Activities and Programs used by Black Riders Squadron | AAAui APPROVED MODS
if any of this helps I'll repost some of it here
I will keep this list updated for mods post AAAui that are AAA approved
First the AAAui
NOTE - ALL links for the four downloads are at the bottom of this first post. You must download all of them into the same folder and run the EXE
NOTE2 - You ONLY need to run the EXE, the EXE combines the RARS, the RARS are additional files for the EXE
NOTE3 - DO NOT unpack the RARS, you're done. LOOK in your IL2 folder and find "Il2VersionSwitcher.exe" make a shortcut on your desktop to it and run only it (Il2VersionSwitcher.exe)
NOTE4 - If running HL choose "SWITCH" (HL will launch it) if you want to fly offline choose "SWITCH and RUN"

By the Community, for the Community
Welcome to the first AAA installer. It has always been our intention to provide a simple way of installing the mods found on this site, and we thank you for your patience. The turnout of modders has been overwhelming and their efforts have produced many mods and making installations piecemeal and quite confusing. This installer contains only finished products (no beta's) in a simple point and click installation.
It is our intention that this package and future updates make up a common set of mods that the AAA Community, and others, can use as a standard. [color=red]The reason is simple, those that want to enforce crt=2 for coops and online wars may do so knowing everyone is using the same set of mods. Therefore, we strongly suggest you do not add new aircraft to this installation
The installer also provides a handy switcher that will be located in the the 1946 game folder. The name of the switcher is 'Il2VersionSwitcher.exe' This small application will allow the user to switch to and from 4.08 and 4.09 as well as allowing for 6DOF if the user has a 6DOF capable trackIR version
