Fw-190D Sounds
#1

First off I am sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have the UI installed and royally love it!! ~S~ to all involved in making it happen, it is truely a work of art.
My question is this; The sounds of the dora in external are over the top loud, in cockpit not as bad. If I adjust my sound to where it is not too bad, I then cant hear peps on teamspeak. I have tried to search thru the hundreds of posts to find a fix but cant find an answer. Is there a sound patch or something of the sort to remedy this? It is the only plane to me that the engine is painfully loud, so loud you can barely hear the MG and cannon fire. So if there is a fix as asked above could someone please help to steer me in the right direction??

~S~ to all of you modders out there, you guys are wickedly talented guys and I hope one of you can help me.

Thank You.

Why can't you just lower your "Objects Volume" on the Sound Options menu? That won't lower your volume for teamspeak...

It is not just the teamspeak. I have adjusted all the settings related to sound with no joy and I really dont want to mess with my settings everytime I fly one aircraft. You can barely hear the guns fire as is, right? so if I lower object volume till engine is quiet, then its like I have a silencer on my MG's and cannon, the only way you know it is shooting is the tracers and smoke. I am looking to see if there is a fix for this cuz I have read alot of others that think it is toooo loud but no answers as to a fix other than lowering volume. I want to keep the sounds of all the aircraft as is, they are briliant.
I am looking to see there is or if there can be made, a single sound mod change just for this aircraft by taking the sound of the "Dora" out of one of the other sound mods and add it into the Fixes and Patches section. If I have to live with it the way it is, then so be it. Thanks for the input though, im just looking for a permanent fix if at all possible Idea .

I see what you mean now. Yeah, it is pretty loud and the guns are hard to hear. But, I dunno of any fix for it. Hopefully they will have one soon. But maybe you can find the sound in your folder and swap it out for another one. If you have any luck, post what you did here for others to read.

I know this about a different sound file, but it may help.
With Vista32, I wound up using audigy, a freeware sound editing tool, to reset the volume.

Get a free sound editing program called Audacity and mess with the volume there, assuming you find the right sound files you want.

I used that same program to make my jet sounds.

+1 on the issue with Fw-190 D9 engine sounds.

Flew a co-op mission online last night that had D-9's in, and as soon as they started spooling up two other players (flying Allied, and not within 80km of the enemy base) couldn't hear a doggone thing over the racket of the enemy aircraft engines. I had no problem initially, but later in the mission when I was forced to bail the D-9 engine sounds came on for me too. And they were LOUD.

I've noticed that on a set of sound files for the P&W R2800, I get roughly the same issue. When I removed that beta mod and went back to UI stock, there was no trouble. With that experience behind me, I wonder if there's a mod within the UI that does *something* with the D-9 engine sounds, and if so I wonder if the .prs files can edited (or added as a separate mod?) to tone down the D-9's engine volume.

Other aircraft exhibiting overly loud engine noises include the Tempest and B-25, from reports my squad-mates have supplied.

I don't agree with the idea of having to use a third-party/outside source sound editing tool to force lower volumes for certain sounds. That sort of stuff should be handled within the game's own sound engine.
