Aircraft Height non retractable landing gear question
#1

After pouring over many tutorials on 3DMax aircraft modelling I have one question.

I know that the height of an aircraft is from the bottom of the aircraft to the highest point of the aircraft which is usually the top of the tail.

Tutorials tell you to remove the landing gear and anything else from the bottom of the aircraft on the three view side and front drawings.
This will then give the aircraft the correct height for a project.

My Question is this;

Does the above method also include non retractable landing gear such as the A5M4 Claude.
To me the wheel covers are a permanent fixture of the aircraft.
If I am thinking correctly taking the A5M4 Claude I think that the bottom of the aircraft would be from the bottom of the wheel covers Not the wheels.
If this is the case would I just erase the wheels and tail wheel?

Any replies regarding non retractable landing gear will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I'll spark some interest with this question.

I am considering doing the Ki 15 Babs as my first 3d project.
Standard version and Kamikaze version.

I thought that this aircraft would be reasonably easy to work with being a total newb to it all.

Definitely keen to know more about non retractable landing gear for height regarding 3 view drawings.
