I have just installed IL-2 on my new HP laptop. when i play the game it streches everything to fit to the screen. Can anyone help? is there any settings i need to change.

Specs man we need specs!

What type of video card is it using?
nVidea has a switch on it's control panel allowing you to turn off the scaling. don't know about ATI.

It is using a 512MB Nvidia GeForce 9600GT.

Just a guess here but couldn't you reduce the Res on the Laptop m8 to play it?
