Missions not saving possibly fixed
#1

Hi,

I've been plagued for months with some of my missions not saving when I resumed an offline campaign, I could play the missions but if I left the campaign, I would find myself back at say mission 1 or 4, the next time I resumed it ...

It got so much on my nerves that I decided to transform all my campaigns into single missions, but even then I sometimes got a "null" message, the mission refusing to load ... !!??

To make a (very) long story short I found out that this was due to a [House] problem in the .mis file of the "bugged" mission, I only needed to delete the [House] line and the mission would load ...

Yesterday I decided to go back to my "bugged" campaigns, chose one (Afrika) where I would always find myself back at mission 4, each time I resumed it, opened the .mis file and ...... found 4 houses there ... decided to delete them and all of the damned houses I found in mission 5 etc ... and replayed the campaign and that did it !!!

So I think my static.ini must be damaged .... and that alone explains why all the people who tried to help me, downloaded the campaigns that I thought were bugged, could play them whithout a problem ... (thanx a lot Vtrelut) simply because their static not beeing damaged they would not have the "bug"

Now I "only" need to repair it without messing it all ....

Hope this helps

I always compare the static.ini file to the pantry in the kitchen.
if we want to make a cake (mission or use a map) we need the ingredients in the pantry.
Having more things in the pantry than we need for the cake is not a problem.... but if an ingredient is missing....problem!
I'm sure I have every object produced at AAA in my static.ini.... and am looking forward to more when Canon's new map comes out.....

.... very clear explanation, Fabianfred, I compared my static to the 4.09 original one and there sure are a few misses (using winmerge) now is there an order or can I simply add the missing elements at the end of my static ?? (still wondering how I could "loose" them ..)
