Hi all, maybe somebody from here can give me an answer to my problem.
First off, I have two versions of IL2 4.08m on my system, one without mods, and another with mod
activator from AAA and lots of other stuff from here, but not the UI.
The unmodded version runs just fine, but the modded version has stutters from time to time.
The interesting thing is, the stutters rarely occur when flying around offline and alone, but when I go
online the stutters are back from time to time and seem to happen more often with many players on the server.
Another thing about the stutters, they last for about five seconds with a frame rate like 1 and are
completely different to those we know from lags.
The sound loops from frame to frame and is not static like when having a lag.
I also had a look at the console and it shows no particular errors when the stuttering happens.
Anybody has an idea? Thanks in advance!
Don't take this as gospel, but I believe it happens when a new something or other needs to be loaded up. I have a mission I'm making at the moment that runs just fine, except I get a massive freeze very similar to what you describe right around the time a flight of aircraft are required to spawn somewhere else on the map.
I presume a ninja hardware setup will reduce this effect but of course thats not much help to those of us who can't upgrade every month/year/decade/other-time-interval.
Rob.

Would be most helpful to see the following:
1. System Specs
2. Conf.ini setup for your system
3. Sound card type
4. What do you have your multiplayer connection type set to?
I have found that if people (EVERYONE) sets their connection speed to 56k or less, there is a lot less lag. The reason for this is packet size. With an ISDN, Cable, or DSL connection, the game tries to send large packets of data, which is fine except that sometimes you get someone with a flaky ISP and they lose a packet. Even if their ping is

it definitely got nothing to do with online lag or the lag when new objects spawn as it happens offline too and when no objects are spawning.
my system specs cant have sth to do with it because my vanilla IL2 version runs just fine, it must be mod related. will post a video of it later so you'll get an impression of it.

Yes, it probably does have to do with the mods, which is EXACTLY why it will help to know your system specs.
The mods, expecially the higher res visual mods, can tax an older, underpowered system heavily. Textures in the original game are mostly 512x512 for world and 1024x1024 for airplane skins.
With the visual mods, almost all the textures are brought up to 1024x1024. Depending on your Video Card, the amount of system and video ram and your processor speed, you may not be able to run the modded game with the same settings are your unmodded game.
With relation of the type of Sound Card and the mods, due to the increased CPU/GPU draw, you may have to adjust your Sound Cards hardware acceleration using the DXDIAG utility in Windows.

O.k.
After reviewing your specs and your Conf.ini file. Your card (6800) is underpowered for the Extra Eye Candy with the mod.
Try altering these settings and let me know if it works better for you.

1Gb of ram might give you stutters
just trying to bring out the ideas to the problem
whatever, pc formatted, problem solved. I had a worm on the system anyway. thanks for your time.
