Help ! Basic map retexture is crashing the map...

Hi gents
I decided to take the default Kursk map, and try a 'simple' winter re-texture.
I created a new map folder, called Kursk_Winter, put the original load.ini and all the assorted tga's into this folder, added a new line to all.ini.
The only file i then edited, was the load.ini, which reads as follows:

The map displays and loads in FMB. I can place objects, save missions. I can zoom in and it looks fine. But, if I try to enter 3D mode, it freezes the game up. If I load a mission, it also crashes at 100%.
I'm guessing that something is wrong with the load.ini, but don't know what? Is it a texture problem?
I have all the texture files that you see in the load, in the correct folders, so what could it be?
Any ideas, chaps? :?:

EDIT: I have done a few successful re-textures previously, with no problems. The only difference here is that I extracted the Kursk files myself. Could I have done something wrong there? They are all there in the folder:
actors.static, ed_m01/2/3.tga,map_c/F/h/R/T.tga, texts, map_c.tga_table and load.ini

I can't see much wrong, though maybe I'd try leaving out the RGB values at the end of several lines for Mount just to see if that helps.

I once tried doing a somewhat similar load.ini and placing different textures, while leaving the RBG values at the end of the lines and it just never worked ...

There is also a semi-colon at the end of Midland1, which isn't needed as far as I can see ...

Otherwise I can't see much.

When this kind of thing happens to me when retexturing maps, I've found it better, more time consuming, but still better, to place a standard load.ini in the folder, and to work line by line, or perhaps by block of 4 (Low/Mid/Mount/Country/ etc) and enter new textures.

Go back to the beginning. use the original load.ini, then change one line only. Does everything work? Ok, change another line and reload.

yes, it's a real pain with this sort of detailed testing, but at least you'll find out which line is causing you the problem.

Ok, i'll try it line by line, thanks.
I did just copy and paste whole groups of lines, so maybe that's it. I'll post later with my results.

Hi bigboss,
I copied your ini file and had a bit of a play and on my machine this bit is causing the problems, why, I don't know :roll:

Code:

I changed it to

and no lock ups.

I'd just found that those 3 lines were causing the issue - it is strange, though - i use those same entries on some other maps without issue... :?: :roll:
