HELP - flak won't fire
#1

I've set up a mission with plenty of B-17s flying at around 8000m, and a forest of flak below, but not one single black puff appeared around the formation. Does anyone know why?

btw here's the mission:

I'm pretty sure that 8000m is slightly beyond the max range of the flak guns...that's why you see the flak below you, and not in the formation. I don't know how accurate this is, can anyone confirm?

Flak will not fire when weather is worse than hazy. Just set weather on clear, good or hazy Smile
BTW:
1. 300km/h for B-17 on 7000m is to slow. Set up about 400km/h or more.
2. Bombers at lower altitude are running out from the formation because they are little faster than bombers at higher altitude. You must do something with this Big Grin

Hi reflected try to get them down about 15000 down altitude
Hope this solution will work

That is odd, our bombers {HVY} regularly fly B17s at 25,000ft (7600m) and we get flak at that altitude regularly, and B29s at 30,000 (9000m) I'm sure I've seen the odd flak burst up there too.

I haven't looked at your mission, maybe the type of flak gun you are using is responsible?

Hi Reflected

This may be a silly question, but are you sure that you have ARTILLERY down there and not STATIONARY OBJECTS? Happened to me.

Hunberto... just download his mission and check it.
He had AA artilery on this mission, and problem was the weather. He had "poor"condition. Flak is not react on this condition.
