Crashing to desktop upon 60% loading.
#1

I made a mistake...Installed several MODs at one time. Started up IL2, and it crashes to desktop at the 60% point. I read somewhee about this 60% mark usually being related to somse specific file or folder.

I also used the AC Installer for teh very first time...in order to install the F9F...I guess that creates a new button, whatever that is.

I've now put the dash (-) in front of all the MOD folders I installed, but no luck getting back to an operating Game.

Any help?

I learned that lesson years ago... I'm getting old and forgot it.

Meanwhile, I've messed around and may be recovering from my mistake. I've gotten IL2 to load and run with One of the recent MODs, all others temporarily Dashed (-) out and/or //ed out of conf.ini, air.ini

I have no idea what you are talking about...

Sounds? What would sounds have to do with anything? BUT, anyway...I didn't change ANYthing with regard to sounds...Nothing.
when you use mods, the in game sound quality has to be set to the max, or the game CTD at around 60%

Thanks for the clarification from both of you guys. That's a weird bit of MOD trivia that i never would have guessed. I won't even try to understand Why it should be so.

In my case, I deleted (Put minus sign in front of), the last 3-4 mod folders which i had installed (after my UI 1.1.1). I then added each back in one at a time. I can't say why, but the 60% loading failure did not re-occur. I did nothing with my sound setup.

I think you need to be verycareful with your air.ini entries so that they match precisely the set of MODS (acft) that you have installed. I think the first time around I may have overlooked including the air.ini line change for one of my new acft Mods, possibly/probably the one for the Sabre or Mig15.

Sorry i can't be of more specific help.

EDIT: Here's a link to another thread discussing the air.ini, in which the air.ini relationship tothe 60% crash is further explained. http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/...hp?t=16708
Quote:What does air.ini do?
the air.ini file in your mods folder in used by your computer to know which planes and new mod planes to load at startup. So, if you remove an entry from your air ini file, that plane will simply not load and be available.Similarily, if you have a plane listed in your air- ini that is not in your game or your mods folder, your game will not load, and you will have the famous 60% crash.
