Hello, is it possible to insert a diagram of say, a naval battle into the map displayed in the FMB? I wish to do this for historical mission making purposes but have no idea how to edit the map. Say if I had a diagram of the Battle of Surigao Strait I have scanned into my computer , can I insert it into the full Philippines map? Thanks in advance!
not possible.
You must rebuild the shipping routes and such within the FMB, there is no way of "importing" from outside sources if that is what you mean.
Sorry I mean editing the 2-D map displayed in the FMB, That way I can re-create the routes of the ships in an accurate/historical manner also some of my diagrams offer the time of arrival at turning points, this would really help in the timing of the battles. I should simply make the waypoints of the ships follow what is shown on the map. IF it is possible.
I searched in the dlv_philippines folder in the mapmods directory and found maps named:
ed_m02
ed_m01
ed_m03
With my 45 mins worth of map editing knowledge I figured one of these maps is what is displayed in the FMB? can I just insert another picture (diagram) with Paint.net and see it in the FMB?
Yes. Just make sure they're saved as flattened TGA files with RLE Compression OFF
