Does anyone run windows xp nateively on a mac. And is it possible to run il-2 on the mac that way.

Yes you can, but you should have not bought a mac in the first place(overpriced) :wink:

also macs do not ususally have very powerful graphics cards
and sometimes when you run mac drivers, it is even worse

I've been running IL2 on my 3yr old core duo 2.0GHZ 20" iMac just wonderfully with everything maxxed out and 20 gig of app and mods, thank you very much

I've had no driver issues or any other issues. To windows, it s just another PC. I also use CH pro pedals, Track IR and X52 stick. The newer macs are MUCH faster than mine, so a 3.06 24" model would be smoking.. I plan to get a new one as soon as Snow leopard is final and the next speed bump comes out.

I have a 2008 MacBook Pro with an NvidiaGeForce 8600GTX and a 2.4GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 183GB hard drive, and the screen res is 1440x900. Two memory slots each with 1GB DDR2 memmory. I think I could even run LOMAC maxed out! :wink:

When you would do this you would partition the system using the bootcamp thing on the mac, this means that you would give the windows side(which is exactly like the windows on a PC only it runs on the mac and it is same exact thing, no emulation). So this means that you give the windows side a certain amount of hard drive space(say about 20GBs) and then play. So essentially your running it on a PC. The only thing that's really different about the new macs is the operating system. So if you don't run the game on the mac operating system it should be great!

Might need a bigger partition.... My IL2 install alone is around 25gig!
