(request) Ships

Okay... this may be asking a lot but i have a few requests about the ships in il-2 game

1. Can anyone make blood splats and dead sailors when you shot them and destroy their AA guns, instead of having them just disappear? something like the blood splats in pilots

2. When a ship's shell hits something on an enemy ship, there are no explosions, only a damage model popping out and smoke comes out in a few seconds. Can anyone add any explosion effects as a shell hits the ship. maybe the same effects as the bomb explsion on the ship?

3. Is it possible to add some animation to the AA guns (including the ones on land and ships) main ship guns. like how the guns in here kind of push back after firing the shell/bullet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1bbT5Zn6Gc

I'm not sure you'd notice a dead crew on the deck of a carrier from the cockpit of your Hellcat... Adding gore effects for dead crews on ships is a bit over the top IMO.

One cool feature to add though would be if AI could attack ships with light caliber MGs. some small ships and barges in ShipPack2 are destroyable with .50 cals and even .303s, but AI won't engage with anything smaller than a 20mm gun.

What we really need is a ShipPack 3 with British carriers, heavy German cruisers (Gneisau, Prinz Eugene...) and generally more cruisers for all sides. More variety in landing crafts and landing barges carriers would be very cool as well.

And possibly the best complement to naval air warfare simlation in this game would be a heavy merchantman with a deck catapult to fly Hurricanes from : catapult off the ship, intercept those pesky KG40 boys and ditch in the drink to be picked up.

Look at this guy asking for stuff and not doing anything to make it happen blah blah blah I know, but a man can dream, can't he Big Grin ?

Gneisenau ... sister to the Scharnhorst ... not that I am biased ... :wink:

Although I would like to see more ships like that, there was alot more anti shipping strikes in the Pacific. I think Japanese cruisers and battleships, even Japanese escort carrier or two is higher up in the food chain. Alot of Japanese ships met their demise by US aircraft.

As for the ETO, aside from the Toronto raid, not even the Bismarck was sunk by planes alone. All German ships you mentioned above were eventually sunk by surface units.

Just my opinion, take it for what it is ... both would be nice though Big Grin

wat i think would be cool is when u hit a ship in its magazine, engine room, etc. it would do wat it would do in real life!
(engine room-ship would slow to a halt, magazine-magazine explodes and ship breaks apart) stuff like that. it be pretty cool to see a ship break in half after u hit its fuel storage, dont u think? the main point is that i would like better ship physics like holes where a torpedo/bomb hit, and cracks in the ship which eventually lead to it breaking apart. and if a ship is sinking at a diagonal angle (like this: / ) the part of the ship highest in the air would break off, real ship physics.

and remember, i can dream Smile
