Sound folders the mystery continues
#1

Just when i feel cocky I think i've got everything fingered out...
Sound folders...I figure I have four folders entitled "Sounds":1.) C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\files/sounds 2.C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\files\Samples \Sounds ; 3.)C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\files\presets\sounds ,& 4.)C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Samples\Sounds...
In number 1.)I have all "navy" sound effects...that's it. In 2.) Same ,plus in this folder I have Music Speech folders & a loose collection of engine & gun sounds outside any folder. In 3.) Engine sounds, gun sounds & sound effects..and in 4.) Virtually the samee thing as #3,but also contains Music & Speech folders
I keep thinking there must be a way of combining one or two of these & recently tried to combine two of them & getting rid of the folder in" presets"- big mistake - engine sounds went away in the game.
So here's my big question is there a correct way to have these folders set up and what's in them ???I'd like to know so I can edit them back a bit and also download new sounds into just one folder instead of two or three, just to make sure I'm putting them some where they'll work.
Is there a simple solution?
Oh yeah whats the difference between the wave files in the Sounds foldersand the different files that generally go into "presets"? Do they need to bekept separately with their own kind?In some of my folders they seem to become mixed...
Thanks!

I got only one folder, so I put

presets into: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\_SOUNDMOD\presets\sounds\
wavsamples into: C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\MODS\_SOUNDMOD\Samples\

but everything under:
C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\samples\...\ etc. must be left alone, cant unify this with another folders

Cheers
