[DOWNLOAD] Casey Jones MiG 15
#1

Somebody had asked why no one has made the Casey Jones MiG from "The Hunters" movie. Well, I went ahead and did it. While researching the project I found some interesting facts I thought I'd share.

This is what everyone in the "West" associates with Casey Jones MiG Ace.

So here is his skin on a real MiG-15.

BUT!!!!! Now the rest of the story.
As many are now aware, the Soviet Union sent their pilots to Korea in secret to gain combat experience in the MiG and train the North Korean Air Force. There were a number of Soviet MiG aces.

Since this was done in secret to keep the West from finding out, the Soviet MiG pilots did not fly Soviet marked aircraft but those of the North Korean Air Force.

Here is what is perported to be the real Casey Jones' MiG-15. This is an artist's rendition as there do not seem to be any actual photos of the acft itself.

And the Ingame version

Not very flashy, huh? Wasn't meant to be.

I have included both in the package below.

Thanks for skins, and it's good idea to convert "moovie skin" to thunderstreak.
The 'Casey Jones' IRL was actually First Lieutenant German Shatalov, who has ace rank (five confirmed, some sources claims seven). Shatalov was dowend and KIA by Major Winton Marshall on november 28 1951.

Thanks I appreciate your research.

This history is interesting.

I download Streak about ten minutes ago from the link in his thread:

Here is direct link:

But filefront works reeeeeeeeaaaaaly slow (2-3 min before start) with this file.
If you will have problems with getting it with official link I can reupload it somewhere else (hope GJE52 not be disappointed).

I have the "Frankenplane" version from GJE52 already, but have not reuploaded it because I am flying 1.2 and am not sure if it will work with 1.2 and the new F-84s.

That is so cool !! Thanks. I always wondered who did this to Glenn Eagleston. (He probably wondered too)
