IL2 1946 short video freezes -not FPS problem- offline
#1

Hi Folks,
I am experiencing short video freezes when running the TA-152H mission. This machine specs are i7-950, Asus P6T Dlx V2 (on board HD sound disabled in BIOS), 6 GB Corsair 1600 Triple channel, EVGA GTX 295 co-op, 1000W Antec Quattro, SB Fatality X-Fi Champoinship, 2 x 1-Tb Samsung Raid Edition in raid0. I am running IL2 1946 with UI 1.1 4.09mb 6DOF with TrackIR 5. Setting to DirectX excellent, sound on 32 bit.
The mission starts out great with very smooth FPS then as I get into furball with 20-30 planes in visual range and the freezes start slowly like every 30 secs or so and only last for about 1 second then as time goes on the freezes get closer and closer. I timed them and they were every 15 seconds and got about 1 second closer apart every 30 seconds. Soon this freezing was happening every 3 seconds before I quit the mission. It didn't matter if there was any video clutter or other aircraft around the freezing continued whether I had a full screen of clear blue sky and was well out of any visual range of other aircraft. Now I can replay the mission and the whole scenario starts over with smooth high FPS to begin with.

Seems like something is buffering then begins to overflow as the mission progreses. I had task manager running while flying to see if I could see any processes that were activating at the time of the freezes but couldn't see any. I was using 17% of my CPU and 35% of my RAM. No other apps were running. I noticed IL2 was eating 12k more memory every couple of seconds. It still didn't encroach on the 6 gigs though. I don't know if its related but the sound pops and cracks alot in this mission and it doesn't on the others. Due to other issues which I have fixed, this problem has persisited through a reformat and reload. I have run memtest, Intelburn test etc and cpu+ram all report Ok. I am using default config ini. All the sound and video drivers are the latest.
Any ideas????

Thanks,

Yes it does happen in OpenGL also. It takes a bit longer to start happening but when it did it finally crashed the game. BTW I'm using Win7x64. All hardware temps are in the green below 47 deg C.
