HSFX mission problems......
#1

I have been using the ultraPack 1.8 recently with the MDS 1.0 and made several missions with it which run OK.....
now I have installed HSFX 4.1 on top of my old 4.0 install and copied the missions over to try and run them to see what differences the MDS 1.1 give...
but I am getting problems ... some missions will load to 90% Loading Stationary Objects and then hang the game....... others load to 100% then hang
...and if I try to load them into FMB the loading stops like this.... with no Objects upon the map...

I hear you fabianfred Sad

Good old 4.09b1m , flawless , all mods working no issues whatsoever , easy to handle files .
Will stick with 4.09b1m for a little longer before switching to another game version .
I wish I can help you with this , it must be a pain in the butt for you since you like to make missions .
Hopefully there will be someone who might know what to look for .

I have some of the same issues with FMb in 4.1, first i cannot save any of my KTO dogfight templates, so here is what i did to work around the problem I made a mods folder inside of hsfx copied my fmb and map mods folder from Ui 1.2 placed inside the new mods folder in hsfx all works well except i cannot get the radar options from the zuti 1.01_UP version to work, Oh well all other options rearm refuel repair all work fine all my missions save and load without exception. Not sure if this will help you with your problem but it might be worth a shot.

There's nothing 'good old' about 4.09b1 that isn't 'good old' in 4.09m. If it wasn't for folk like fabianfred prepared to get this stuff worked out you wouldn't have any mods at all.
Whether meant or not, your ostrich-like attitude comes across as a slap in the face to all of the modders who are trying to improve YOUR game.
Why not make dual installs? Then you can make an informed decision as to what's actually what.

I think you've misunderstood HolyGrail...Dunklegrun....... he wasn't trying to take the piss but quite logically prefers to wait for some of the bugs to be ironed out before commiting himself......
I also have UI1.2/HSFX4.1/UP1.8/4.09b1m/4.09+UI1.2 installs...
anyway...I tried adding my old MapMods folder to Mods...but still no joy

sod it....I'm going back to UP1.8 for now.......... the MDS1.1 isn't the last iteration of MDS...there is another version out soon

the problem with missions in the FMb occurs with only Historymod activated by JSGME...and nothing else...not even MDS

but with 4.09 the problem doesn't occur......strange :? Confusedhock: :-? :???:

Apologies if I did misread, but that was how it looked to me.

Charlie Chap reckons that MDS 1.01 might be the cause of your problem - I haven't used it so can't help more than that.

I wasn't able to save any FMB missions when I had the Zuti DSMod_1.01 enabled. Once that was removed it worked for me. I haven't explored it beyond that.

I'm having a bit of a problem with new maps I added to FMB...some work some don't...On Missions side I noticed that my campaign in Norway is now a non-atarter even tho Norway map is in 4.01 & appears to work in FMB...

In some other thread was posted that you need to open MDS options and set something... anything in it so it will write its default settings in mis file... then the mission will be saved.

I think the game with MDS on just assumes you actually want to use it... which I understand a bit... I don't find the mission builder to good without MDS Big Grin .

I didn't had time to install my HSFX 4.1 yet but i will try today and post back if I observe same thing.

OK, I test it my self and yes... you need to open the MDS window and play a bit with som settings... enabling disabling something should be enough.... then saving works. I think MDS is one of the mods that is a mistake to oversee and consider just a minor nuisance.

These are missions which i created in UP1.8 which has MDS1.0...and they work OK there...but trying them in HSFX 4.1 they cannot load into the FMB and stop loading as a mission when trying to play them..?????

There is something wrong with the HSFX4.1....... because the very same mission will not load into FMB with nothing enabled in JSGME except Historymod....not even MDS1.1........... BUT the mission WILL load into FMB correctly when JSGME has Historymod disabled and Default 4.09 enabled...?????

Correct. Zuti has posted a reply about this here and I'm sure he will issue a patch for what is the most significant adavance in IL2 for a long time. He has posted a temporary fix:-

http://il2ultrapack.net46.net/index.php/...054.0.html

Fabianfred may have highlighted another issue though as this only deals with saving a mission. Let's hope it will be fixed in the new UP1.8 patch!

tried that...doesn't work.....

if I enable MDS 1.1 or 0.8 in the JSGME then mission loads to 90% and hangs the game....(this is to play the mission...not in FMB)
if I have no MDS enabled then it loads OK...but of course there are no AI planes etc.

As I understand it, the new UP install will tie in HSFX 4.1 and have other UP mods available through JSGME. I vouch that if you wait until this issue (probably next week) you will be able to transfer your UP 1.8 missions into the new install, then select HSFX 4.1 through the switcher and all will be rosy! If I remember rightly, there were some significant differences between HSFX 4.0 and UP 1.8 (aircraft included), so the likelyhood is that since you constructed these missions in UP 1.8 with MDS 1.0, you will have to wait for UP's version to get them installed.
I do not speak from any prior knowledge....but when I saw what was on offer with the original issues of HSFX and UP1.8, we as a small group of mainly ancient flyers (40-80 years!) decided that we would go down the UP route as it was a little more flexible.
Don't get me wrong.....I think both HSFX and UP are really great installs and one day we will have a unified version, but just imagine what these guys are up against with so many mods....I am in awe of their work.
Give it a week and maybe you will be OK Fabianfred...but I sympathise and am keeping my UP 1.8 MDS missions where they are for another week or so.

Nicholaiovitch Smile

Happy Christmas to you all and a special one for all the guys who have given us so much in UI, HSFX and UP.

Yes Nicholaiovitch...I agree...Thank you and Happy New Year ...and I am in your group at 57

I went to HSFX 4.0...then UP1.8...then tried the 4.1....and am waiting for the update to UP1.8....as that seems to suit my needs the best.
I rarely play on-line...but enjoy using the MDS on my own at home with its many great features.

When TD come out with the Multi-engine support and triggers for the FMB then my wishes will all come true.
