Junkers Ju88-Mistel
#1

Hello all.
Before I start, I want to apologize that I've made such a flow with my topics/posts. I'm positively shocked about this forum Smile
I know it has been discussed earlier because I have done a research over here, but I'm going to ask once again since I've couldn't find any proper answer.
Is it possible to make the Ju88 Mistel flyable in QMB and in multiplayer? Just like in the first days of Il2 where we could fly it on edited maps.
If it involves some java coding or stuff, because I've heard it's a topic that shouldn't be discussed here, would any of more experienced modders be so kind and put the mistel onto normal ju 88 flight model? Even without cockpit, but just to make it available to fly in QMB.
I however tried editing the air.ini - deleting the NOQUICK thing, but it appears inside AI list, not mine.

Thanks for eventual help.

That's kind of like asking to make the V-1 flyable. I don't think that's going to happen, mate.

You can do it in online dogfight maps using the copy/paste trick in the .mis file.

Yeah mate, but since we have the MXY-7 flyable, then why can't we have the mistel?
We have the model, we have the flight model. Is it really hard to do it?
Why can't I add it by editing air.ini?
Why when we use the .mis trick, the game "automaticaly" matches the mistel and ju 88 flight model and let's us play, isn't it possible in qmb too?

Thanks for your's reply.

If you're wanting to be able to attach your 190 or 109 to the top of one in QMB I'll understand, I'm all for it...but it sounds like you want to fly it by itself??! Sorry but if thats the case it does sound kind of ridiculous, a mistel is a huge bomb-puppet, it has no control surfaces of it's own :???:

Perhaps a Fw-190 mistel or Bf-109 mistel in a new slot with a Ju-88 mistel as weapon loadout option instead if that is possible? It would make a little more sense.

It's not possible to attach the mistel as loadout in QMB. It is however in FMB.
And I am asking for being able to fly mistel on my own in qmb just like in multiplayer on those fun maps.
Yes it is a living bomb, but it is fun to crash it around.

The difference between the two is that the Mistel does not contain a pilot. So, it is not going to be flyable.

That said, it would be nice if in QMB the Fw-180 Mistel could spawn with the Ju-88 Mistel. However, the engine can't handle that. You have to set it up in FMB.

Guys why don't you read?
I've stated that I know how to attach them, I just want to fly mistel on my own.
Then how it was possible in multiplayer?
In multiplayer it was somehow switched to normal Ju 88 flying model.

I understand what your getting at Chappi and have to agree why cant we fly it in the QMB? But like your last post about it and this one is starting to go in that direction its that Crazies that are worried about if it was flyable in real life or not are being heard.

Don't get me wrong, but I'm not asking those guys if it's realistic or not. Many planes here aren't realistic either.
I'm just asking if it is possible to done or how it is.
Since we can fly it on ju 88's fm via multiplayer by editing one file, can't we in qmb?

Apart from 1946 planes, I don't see how.

No.

You can try to fly it like we flew the AI planes pre-mods. Manually add the Mistel to the list of flyable planes from a Home Base in the .mis file. Then you can host your own server and use it.

I have NOT tried this with the Mistel, but it worked for B17s etc before we had cockpits for them.

That's what I'm basically trying to do. And yes strangely it works in multiplayer, somehow it acts like Ju88 but with mistel explosion and model.
And I don't think it's possible to do in qmb.
